You can solve this issue with RMA supportIf I am replacing the board rather than repairing the U6 component, will it be Rev1.02?
some chinese SM boards have different warranty conditions.when I bought the board from a Chinese guy through eBay
I didn't know there were scratches as shown in the picture.
before I bought from him, I asked for the serial number, after which I wrote to the SM tech-support and they confirmed to me that there is a guarantee and I can buysome chinese SM boards have different warranty conditions.
one or 3 years ?before I bought from him, I asked for the serial number, after which I wrote to the SM tech-support and they confirmed to me that there is a guarantee and I can buy
ask SM if can repair the board, you pay the parts.before I bought from him, I asked for the serial number, after which I wrote to the SM tech-support and they confirmed to me that there is a guarantee and I can buy
the problem is that the SM does not want to change, I explained the situation to them, the scratches do not affect the performance of the motherboard in any way. It worked great, but after I updated the BIOS, not works
in the letter I indicated to them a link to the forum so that they could read that there is a problem with bmc on a series H12SSL-I of motherboards
My question to supermicro:ask SM if can repair the board, you pay the parts.
this scratches are there from the beginning/working, right ?Answer is supermicro:We found the PCB circuit is damaged, it’s un-repairable.
Absolutely true, worked great, no problems.this scratches are there from the beginning/working, right ?

Is this your first time repairing such things?Hi guys this is the situation
SM refused to admit the fact that the problem in the motherboard is on their side, now the question is how to fix it, what tools do I need for this? Please advise a soldering station with bottom heating
Regards
Thanks for the answer, yes indeed there are big doubts about if the SM changed the U6You could check on this by measuring the output resistance and voltage of the converters.
I think i marked where to measure earlier in the thread.
You will need a decent enough soldering iron and hotair-station as well as solderwick, flux, and all the other little things. Thanks for the answer, yes indeed there are big doubts about if the SM changed the U6
all I need is advice on what tools to buy?
1-soldering station with bottom heating
2-good soldering iron
can you advise me on a specific model of station with bottom heatingYou will need a decent enough soldering iron and hotair-station as well as solderwick
I sadly can't really give you a recommendation other then that you really need preheat.can you advise me on a specific model of station with bottom heating
flux, and all the other little things,I have
Consider this a fun excersise. Without any knowhow or prior experience, this is jumping in the deep end and bound to damage the boards even further. Very low chance of success.can you advise me on a specific model of station with bottom heating
flux, and all the other little things,I have
Thanks to all and every one for the answers, but this is a matter of principle.Consider this a fun excersise.
thumbs pressed...take care of all electrolytic capacitors, they die on high temps. Thanks to all and every one for the answers, but this is a matter of principle.
I just want to prove to myself that you can fix the motherboard.
