Of interesting note and I meant to mention this earlier I dunno if it is SOP but my procs from esiso came in esd bags on foam 'pads' tucked down in corner of esd bag and taped shut. I was expecting 2011 clamshelled procs on delivery but they got here nonetheless safely.

Rest of the pkg was armoured like a tank.

2cents.

Very typical for used CPUs.

128GB memory later and my pocketbook hurtin (8x 16gb PC3-14900R 14900R 1866 DDR3 240-pin) and I am good to go!

...for now at least, will go back to the well one more time for memory for my third node to take them to 64GB each to start, 128GB later which will be a final config on them for my needs for the next few yrs anyways.

I ended up with the E5-2660's for my SL250s Blades (1x Left and Right), someone on ebay decided to sell the blades for 150/Shipped each which made absolutly no sense but they are up and running! pulled out 4 of my SL390s and swapped the memory over with the new Chips... Cheaper upgrade than i thought!

There is an an x9drg-qf on fleabay sitting at $250usd about 20 hours from completion. I'd be making an offer if I could buy all the toys... Have to purchase parts in order sadly.

This will NOT fit in most cases. Bigger than eatx.. Lian li 11 slot, caselabs cosmos 2, 11 expansion slot cases or the user nice sm 747TQ... But it is a heck of a workstation motherboard.

SUPERMICRO MBD-X9DRG-QF-B Dual 2011 Server Motherboard

If you have too much money you can buy it and send it to me. :)

This sticks out the side of a core x9 about 2 inches. I started with the core x9 and planning for the z9pe-d8 but this showed up on my doorstep and the core x9 is now waiting for a guy to come and take it to its new home. Look for 11 expansion slots width and it will overhang most every motherboard tray in depth.
