You have my attention. Tell me more about these cheap E3s! I've got 8 sockets to fill.I'd love to find an E3 for the price of a pair of socks.
Crazy man. I was about to say "pretty fancy setup for STH"whoa things are getting fancy
Mind sharing where that came from (I can guess but wanted to confirm)? PM if needed. I can dig from there. Will have a touchpoint with Intel early next week also to discuss."Just confirmed with both SYS and MBD Part Manager. ETA are all for MBD and SYS are all delayed by Intel until End of Oct. Xeon-D SOC processor will not be available prior to end of September for us to start building MBD for them. None will be released in April/May timeframe."
And to save so you don't have to use the CC?NOOOOOOO! eh gives me more time to pay down the CC.
It's all about those points babyAnd to save so you don't have to use the CC?
I need a CC with points, either Amazon (diaper subscription) or Delta miles. It's all about those points baby
Likely not going to happen but a 15" MacBook Pro with the 1540, 64GB Ram with dual PCIE SSD would make a great editing/developer workstation.would it be so cool if someone notebook manufacturer throws in 45w 8 core Xeon D with a discrete graphic? a laptop that can take 64+gb of memory... with dual 2.5in NVMe ssd
Sure this is lower power with support for larger DIMMs, but why not just get the Single Socket 2011?The usual early-stock "bandit" sites are listing the X10SDV for delivery in 10 days @ $1388(!) or 1,083 euros (ex vat). Since these guys usually go with a 40+% markup over list you can expect this board to come to real active markets at about $899. Steep - but as Patrick points out by the time you outfit a similar E5 system is probably a deal.
