New Gigabyte mainboards lga 4710 came online. so the hunt for new ES continues.
Unfortunately the socket 4710 has the same type number as some previous intel cpu, and the "series" 6700 also which is not so nice for efficient searching.

Hey friend, excuse me, and excuse my English please, I'm French, I would like to know if you could help find, I've found XEON 8352 ES Qv2f or 8358 ES QV8M on ebay, so I have some questions, if you can answer to them when you have some time,

are they good, or bad ES cpu, I've seen that in 2021 you tried to explain wich versions were good or not. But I don't understood?

Do you know, if they would work on an asrock C621A WS, it's an lga 4189 so it's the good socket and chipset, but does the MB have the right microcode?

Do you know if the are unlocked or not, by the way, I read that you could on some cpu's you tried, get 3.6ghz by deactivating some cores, I can do this instead, if the are not unlocked

After some research, I found that, with my mobo, I need a step 6 ES cpu, but I don't know how to know which are step 6, I found that qwat and qwap are one's

the microcode is there in any case, that is not the problem.
we found ASRock runs step 4/5 ES with BIOS 1.20
but not tested with the WS one.
8352 ES Qv2f step 5 ES1
8358 ES QV8M step 5 ES2

8352 ES Qv2f step 5 ES1
8358 ES QV8M step 5 ES2

QWAQ,QWAT,QWAP,QWAS,QWAN,QWAC,QWAE,QWAU = step 6

OK, so you are telling me that a step 5 would work on the asrock mobo? So all QV would work?

By the way I found a QWAN for 180€ /192 USD, but if I can get an Qv8m instead, for 120€, the 2 are sold at 2.2ghz so I should get same performance, but for 60€ less

120-180, you should choose Step6 QWAN. except for compatibility differences, QVM8 has higher voltage and power and more bugs. I recommend avoid all B0/C0.

only first BIOS, know on SPC621 (621A WS not tested)

correct with latest actual BIOS.

it depends on the CSME/ CSE SPS configuration.
i got a X13SRA-TF with old intel ME (LGA4677 WS boards run ME not SPS)
old ME has D0/E0 ES support but BIOS lacks D0 microcode which can be added.
updating only the BIOS (not ME) supports still E0
as long as you don't update ME/SPS your board should start non PRD step ES.
here is the proof:

OK so I buy the QWAN more stability, less power,....
