In case if anyone still follows self-torture path (or are lucky to have Gigabyte MB with right BIOS) - another $250 cheap D0 stepping LGA4677 alternative Xeon ES QYFU 1.8 Ghz/48c surfaced on ebay space with item 385713079210 from China.
Multiple prod items start appearing over the recent days too but still way too high above Intel' guide price.

JFYI - despite the fact that Gigabyte says MS73-HB1 has "Gen4" M2 slots, it actually trains at PCIe 5.0 speeds, and I get this with Crucial T700 SSDs.

Just please make sure SSDs are >actively cooled< (with a fan, not just the heatsink) otherwise they will go in throttlefest mode.

facts in manuals ?
copy/paste form MD72-HBx
edit: maybe the M.2 slost are not validated for PCIe5.0 or not properly wired for that and have to many PCIe transfer errors in 5.0 speeds.

Not only in manuals, on my mobo there were small "Gen4" stickers on both M2 slots, which scared me.

I also guess they did not validate / some tests failed - but thankfully, it works.

Now, about those 3x UPIs - I am getting my waterblocks today so I can power on the second CPU. But I suppose that is probably true. Supermicro X13DAI/DEI have 4 UPIs between CPUs, but suffer from different tradeoffs (some x8 PCIe slots). I guess E-ATX format is at its limits here.

I have two QJWD Xeon (AWS-1100v4 or 2676v4?) but it is not working in HP Z440 (5 beeps and red led flash) and Dell T5810 (no beep just a blank screen). Or my workstations simply not work with v4 cpus?
Do i need older microcode or newer bios?

if not the QJWD ( AWS-1100v4 ) does not work.

nothing special normal V4 microcode, 145W TDP
The TDP is not the problem, i use 160w 2687wv3 in one of my dell T5810 (custom all core hack unlocked bios + Rebar support) HP Z440 also works with 145w 2697v3.
I think i removed the microcode in the Dell when i added the turbo hack.
I am trying to update the Z440 bios.

the AWS-1100v4 may have the OEM TDC=199A like the E5-2696v4, some motherboards don't support this.
Hp z440 latest 2023 bios. All keyboard led blink once but not starting, i got 6 beeps.

It is working in asrock x99 as AWS-1100v4 but lost some pcie lanes (nvme not working). And there is something with the video card support, only a GT240 works with this, Gtx580 not working (the gtx580 and the nvme works with 2699v3 on this motherboard.

Is there a guide for the TDC mod? I can edit the bios if needed.

Its start now.
TDC wasnt the issue (it is 176A) but the pcie lanes. Only the 2.0 pch lanes are working. But i dont think both cpu comes with dead pcie lanes so it is some compatibilty issue.

have you tried with other Retail V4 ?
Nope, but my asrock x99 and z440 (both latest stock bios) have the same pcie lane issues with both aws cpus (asrock x99 pcie lane for nvme not working, only an old video card works at pcie 1.0, hp z440 only works on the first 1x slot that comes from the Pch)
Only old pcie 1.0 video cards works on both systems width this aws cpus.
There is no issues with v3 cpus.

looks here 1.0 too right ?

anyway: it is eng.sample. QS but at OEMs you never know.
I think it is something with pcie mmio, tsx, vmx or some addressing issues. Dont think that pcie lanes are killed because low end, old cards are working (short addresses?)
So i start to disable cpu features. (Txt and vm features)
There was something with TXT(TSX) in that time (haswell and early broadwell cpus).

early haswell, was disabled 3 month after launch in microcode. don't know about any issues with broadwell and TSX.
my theory:
A: hey intel ,we want cheap 16 core !
I: with full features ? no go.
A: we don't need PCIe lanes, or just some with low speed.
I: ok we can do this. if they are end of usage, and flood the ebay market they are unusual for most LOL.

Interesting, but I don't think that would be the case. There is not any cpu in LGA2011 that crippled that way. They limited the ram freq, qpi links but not the pcie lanes.
I think it is something to do with a cpu feature like addressing pcie devices, or something with buggy virtualization.

In LGA2066 ok, there was a few limited pcie lane cpu (i5, and lower i7 cpus) but not in the LGA2011-3

I have a few things from amazon servers.
AMD Radeon Pro V540 Eng sample (dual navi12+HMB2)
there is a topic for this: AMD Radeon Pro v540 Research Thread
There is no windows driver for that card, and Amd dont want to help.
