curious !found 1 listing in a Polish website that state the QDCS only works with DDR3 ( Intel Xeon 2695 v3 QDCS Early ES - tylko DDR3 ! | Starogard Gdański | Kup teraz na Allegro Lokalnie ).
So now I should try my luck by adding microcode to the BIOS rightsure it works with DDR4. but without the microcode and Intel RefCode support it will not work.

Thanks for the warning, I am aware of that already but I just wanna try if it works (additional VRM cooling is a must tho). I'm also thinking of getting myself an used X99-AD3 to pair with this power-hungry monster.i took a look at the X99-8M-F, and was shocked.
i have a X99-8M which has 6 phase VRM and a real C612 chipset
the X99-8M-F shippes with only 3 phase VRM and a B85 chipset. take care of your VRM they are not made for 135 watts.
it is not a monster, 3 phase is weak, that is the problem.to pair with this power-hungry monster.
have you tested this BIOS with a known working CPU ?I have tried adding 306F0 microcode to the BIOS, but the system still refused to boot. Fan spinning but no beep at all. The CPU did heat up. Any suggestions?

Thanks, that is very helpful. Licensing isn't an issue for me. Usecase is for homelab use and I will be running Proxmox. Guests will be Linux or FreeBSD.7551P = 32 cores but only 3ghz max boost
6130H = 16 cores but 3.7ghz boost clock
If it’s a lot of VM’s or highly threaded workload then the AMD but the Intel is really not a bad cpu and lower tdp so possibly easier to cool.
Maybe licensing is a topic for you also ? (Let’s say windows with the 16-core base limit)
I know I don’t run any actual heavy workload but other than people who are practicing some data silence or some AI/ML I am not convinced anybody would need beyond 16cpu, memory maybe more so.Thanks, that is very helpful.
