It feels like all the SP3 motherboards (e.g., H11SSL, EPYCD8, S8030) have gotten much more expensive over the past few years. I remember paying around $250 in 2021.
Damn, very late to the Party, probably far too late given the current Prices.

I just tried to upgrade to a more "recent" Platform with some Systems using Supermicro X10DRi / X10SRL and Intel Xeon E5-2697 v4.

The X10DRi arrived with a cut corner and the Serial/COM/RS232 Port bent at a 45° Angle  .

And I thought I was making a good deal, when clearly this EPYC Platform would have been so much better (athouth both Motherboard and CPU would have been more expensive, yet MUCH more Powerful and Power Efficient).

I don't need another motherboard. I built a H11dsi cluster when these boards were very cheap. I am just curious as to why there prices have increased relative to better mobos.
Everyone is trying to selfhost deepseek on CPU/RAM now

Been lurking in this thread for a while...

Perhaps others have moved on from these but I've just placed an order with Tugm4470 to replace my aging Sandybridge Xeon on a Tyan S5512.

Tugm4470 responds very quickly to questions, much appreciated.

I run 7C13 + H12SSL-i and very very happy, bot from Tugm as well

Now that I had to send back the damaged X10DRi (arrived with a cut corner and the Serial/COM/RS232 Port bent at a 45° Angle ) I am lost.

I have 2 x Intel Xeon E5-2697 v4 I got from Aliexpress and it's anyways too late to test them (approx 2x45 USD - could have been worse).

The Cheapest Motherboards for Intel Xeon v3/v4 I could buy in Europe is 200 EUR, it's crazy .

So I was tempted to see if jumping to the H11SSL-i was worth it BUT ... NO LRDIMM RAM Support (I also double checked on Supermicro Website) ???? What ????

In the Motherboard Manual for the H11SSL-i (MNL-2085.pdf) there is however:
The H11SSL Motherboard Series supports up 1TB Registered ECC DDR4 2666MHz speed or
2TB Registered ECC DDR4 3200MHz speed (Board revision 2.x required), RDIMM/LRDIMM
3DS/3DS RDIMM memory in eight (8) slots. Refer to the table below for additional memory
information.
I tried to attach Screenshot (Forum is buggy on this, "Oops we ran into a Problem" when copy/pasting it, "Attach Files" also would NOT work, it automatically strike-through the Title of the File for some Reason and never uploads it - PNG File  ) of the Table (Page 32 of the Motherboard Manual) showing the possible Configurations. Not sure what LRDIMM 3DS is though. The Table for 7001 Processors makes more sense to me (4R LRDIMM) as I'm not even sure what the 2S2R in Table for 7002 Processors is .

I have ALL DDR4 as LRDIMM (except for the E3 v3 Systems that are of course Unbuffered). Mostly Hynix on top of that . That is a bummer in my Opinion .

Did anybody successfully manage to run the H11SSL-i or other EPYC Motherboard fully populated with LRDIMMs (8 x LRDIMM) ?

Dear friends, due to the fact that Supermicro does not currently provide separate motherboards to agents, they have started selling them as server based systems this year. As a result, there are currently no new motherboards available for sale in China. The reason for the rise in motherboard prices is that Chinese capitalists are recycling the H11 series motherboards for high prices, which has led to the current high prices of motherboards. Currently, Supermicro H11ssl is mainly sold to maintain customer loyalty and has no profit margin. The price of Supermicro H12dsi in China also exceeds $1000 in cost. Almost all of our customers now choose the TTY T1DEEP E-ATX SP3 motherboard that I recommend as a replacement for Supermicro H11dsi and Supermicro H12dsi. TTY T1DEEP E-ATX SP3 is the motherboard we are currently selling at this price. It's also $738, but this belongs to PCIe 4.0, with performance compared to Supermicro H12dsi

What do you mean by "agent"? Supermicro is not selling motherboards as a standalone product (that's news to me)?

ok perhaps I am thick, but am I understanding correctly that what we are saying is that

- H11SSL is near EOL, probably not manufactured, and therefore sold at a premium by SM
- H12SSL is still under warranty, so not dumped on the used market yet (but will be soon)

and therefore we are likely in the high point of a wave, with prices coming down when H12SSL go out of warranty / support?

if sold them to consumers, SM(and the dealer) must provide longer warranty.

you know how this works: if all want them, prices go sky.

My friend, you can wait for now. There will be a new motherboard in China that will replace the H12SSL and the price will be normal. We are currently testing its performance and stability, and it will be sold soon. The performance will be better than the H12SSL

Any News on LRDIMM support (see my latest post above) ?

Tugm4470's H11SSL-F Version 2.0 + AMD EPYC 7302P+/7371 is around 500 EUR but I wonder if there are better CPUs in the Zen2 (or Zen3) Range that aren't too much more Expensive than that 16Core/32Thread one.
