Which PSU you use for the Supermicro H11SSL-i version 2 ?

I'm interested by buying from Tugm4470, how it work with the customs? the price include the VAT in European Union?

Some people here say that they bought they motherboard in europe for the warranty, have you a shop to recommend? I only see 800€+ mobo....

Pretty much any power supply will work. All you need is a the 24 pin connector for the mb, and the 8 pin and 4 pin power connectors. You can even adapt a pci-e power connector to the 4 pin mb power connector. I am using a 450w rosewill 80 platinum ps for my H11 and a 550w rosewill 80 platinum for my H12. The real question is will you be using a graphics card that uses a lot of power. That will drive the power supply size.

not if value over $150usd. over it you have to pay customs. how much tax tells you the shipping company before delivery.
then you pay import VAT of value+customs+shipping.
if seller writes low value, this is insurance value, if parcel lost in transit.
ask if the seller takes the risk or you.

It looks like the price of SM Rev 2 Rome motherboards doubled in price on ebay over the past few weeks but the price of second hand Rome CPU's hasn't moved. Any ideas as to why?

I am referring to H11dsi rev 2. These were running for $350 to $450 for used like-new a few months ago. Now they are $700 to $850.
You know you can get a brand new H12dsi for $700?

The used prices are stupidly high. As far as I know, there is now downside to the H12dsi, unless you have a 1st gen epyc.
You get pci-e gen 4 speed, and the ability to use milan processors.

these card with two CPU are more complex to use?

is it possible to use them with one cpu ?

don’t buy a two socket card if you only plan to use with one cpu. You would lose access to half the PCIe lanes plus I am sure there will be other inefficiencies in term of power consumption.

a second cpu cost around 100$/€ ( and another 100 for the cooler)

but i dont know if it worth or not, i'm afraid to have some problems of compatibility, i guess the whole system is more complex

not just more complex. Look at the motherboard manual. Any port connected to CPU2 in the system block diagram or marked as CPU2 will stop working. I believe that’s because a lot of the CPU1 PCIe lanes are consumed by the inter-cpu connectivity.

I agree. But when I was in the market for motherboards I could buy H11dsi rev2 used-like new for $350-400 which was hard to beat. The thing I find surprising is that the H11dsi's have jumped in price but Rome processors did not.

Is there a reason you need specifically H11DSi? Do you need dual-socket? Do you want Milan compatibility? PCIe 4? Onboard NVMe ports? Would you consider SP3 boards from Tyan, Gigabyte, ASRock?

I don't need another motherboard. I built a H11dsi cluster when these boards were very cheap. I am just curious as to why there prices have increased relative to better mobos.

It feels like all the SP3 motherboards (e.g., H11SSL, EPYCD8, S8030) have gotten much more expensive over the past few years. I remember paying around $250 in 2021.
