Any reason my 8x 32GB Micron MTA36ASF4G72PZ-2G3 wouldn't work in an H12SSL-i with a 7282 from @Tugm4470 ?
Hello my friend, could you please send me a picture of your memory for me to check? Under normal circumstances, it can be used, and your memory should also belong to REG ECC memory

Hi, memory is currently in use in my X10SRi-F with E5-2699v4. It's registered ECC, 2Rx4 Bit difficult to take a photo right now. I struggled to find a datasheet on Micron's website, but there's one here...

Have communicated with Tugm4470 via ebay and today placed an order. Let you know how I get on. After reading this thread from start to finish, I'm expecting good things.

Edit: FedEx delivered today, 12/08/24, to my neighbour. Hopefully be able to start looking at replacing my X570D4U-2L2T this evening.

Been reading through this thread for a while and seen a lot of praise for tugm. I realized I actually bought my current H12SSL-i + 7282 from him a couple of years ago without knowing he was well talked about here =).

Been eying on the H12SSL-i + 7c13 from him now as well as an upgrade, but I just now noticed that he has sold out! There are other sellers, but they don't really specify how they declare the package value for EU customs/taxes... I found one who does mention "message me what value you want declared", so I'm looking at that as my main option right now. He's only selling the CPU though, not the combo.

How is the 7c13 compatibility? The reason I was going to buy the combo was because it ensures the CPU works with the MB, because, well, it's a bit of an odd CPU not listed anywhere. My board is on the latest 3.0 BIOS... would that work if I just buy the CPU from someone else?

Send him a DM, he might answer that question, he could even have some stock.

Ask him specifically about the compatibility of that processor with this board and whether or not the CPU is unlocked (you want unlocked). This particular seller has provided me with good info on this multiple times.

Hello friend, the H12SSL-I motherboard is currently out of stock. We do have the AMD EPYC 7C13 available, which is brand new and not locked to any operator. Its performance is comparable to the AMD EPYC 7713.

What's the possibility that this combo (7302p + H11SSL-i) could be used in a SM 2U chassis (825/826) with a passive heatsink on the CPU? SM offers this one: Supermicro 2U Passive CPU Heat Sink Socket OLGA4094 (SNK-P0063P). They claim it is usable up to 180W TDP and the 7302p is only 120W TDP, but of course 'usable' may mean "the stock fans are running at full speed all the time".

In my application the CPU would be fairly lightly loaded most of the time, the reason for the upgrade would be higher burst performance than my current Xeon (more cores, more cache, higher core clock) and more PCIe lanes. Right now I've got an 80W TDP Xeon with a Noctua cooler which only makes noise when the CPU is really busy, but I haven't found any similar coolers which would fit in a 2U chassis.
Do you have to put it in a 2U? I built a small cluster with dual 7302’s in Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 cases ($130-150) allowing me to use a tall Noctua cooler and Noctua fans that minimize noise while providing adequate cooling. You get 10 hdd slots, 3 ssd slots but no hot swap. I also built a machine with H11ssL+7302 and a Noctua cooler in a Meshify 2 case. This second option has great air flow but not a lot of storage. I went with these cases and Noctua coolers so I could keep noise levels relatively low. If you are not that concerned about energy cost you may also want to consider the 220W 7f52 (~$300 on eBay) with boost up to 3.9. The 1st setup above does a good job managing thermals for this high TDP cpu.

Anyone knows what the BMC password is for the h12ssl-i? System won't boot and I can't get any video output. Can see the BMC login page via IPMI

Does anyone know if the 7C13 will work “out of the box” on 7003-compatible boards? Being a custom variant, it doesn’t seem to be on any compatibility lists. The resellers (on eBay and similar) are pairing these with a number of different boards, but I have yet to find if they require a specific bios revision, a custom bios, etc.
