you can potentially mount corsair h80 or h60 with zip ties - but its not nice looking - and pretty much same as fury-x.I've been busy buying crap, there's a R9 Nano on the bench rig now lol, I gotta find me waterblock for it someday.

If I can find a A770 for a not-stupid price that is. €260 is still a bit too much for my taste.try the intel cards - not sure on success - buuut it will be interesting
I can't do BGA rework and paying someone to upgrade a 580 is a fool's errand. You can try to reach out to some guys that fix gpu's - the old gpu's are fairly open -> you can upgrade their vram with ease (double-quad it)
If I could be arsed to, sure! These days I'm not too interested in chasing WRs and just benching for fun.We have a guy here in us - that does things as such and more for quite cheap (but again those cards won't benefit a lot in terms of performance - but might allow you to play some games/run some benchmarks that require more than its available buffer).
Though some cards can clearly benefit from larger buffer - as they were held back by it.
Quite sure you could learn how to reball, solder memory - its not as hard as people make it out to be.
