just scored a pair of XSPC 770/780/OG Titan blocks with matching backplates for €35 shipped from Germany

try this:

results for me are really good vs gelid.
I already am using PTM7950. My P50, P51, 2080 Ti and 4090 in the main rig all use PTM7950.

In other news, I bought this: ≥ Asus Rampage V Edition 10 X99 LGA 2011-v3 socket — Moederborden — Marktplaats

Yes, R5E10 with a 6800K.

R5E came in the mail. Whoa, board's nearly new. 6800K's doing 4.3 GHz at 1.29V rn, waiting on the chiller to cool down to well below ambient to see what 1.4V does

Also found out my AX1600i is failing

Except it's not failing. It's Corsair's idiocy by setting the PSU to Multi Rail by default, and only allowing 40A per rail as OCP.

Set it to Single Rail in Corsair Link and all is well thus far. Live and learn I suppose.

Got bored, and since I didn't even really use the VR rig to begin with I moved the Better Retro Rig into the D7XL.

Bifurcation works in PCIe slot #3 of the R4BE with the bifurcation modBIOS
There's a bug with the bifurcation modBIOS though: it breaks Legacy boot. I am unable to boot XP or from USB with the PCIe-M.2 bifurcation card enabled.

Gotta disable the slot physically by means of the DIP switch to boot, smh

Someone listed a R4BE with the EKWB full cover (VRMs, CPU, AND chipset!) block and I low-key want it... but on the other hand, do I really need a 2nd R4BE?

shit pic of the BRR because it's 40C in the attic:

Future plans: AC High Flow Next, swap out the CPU block > VRM block fittings for rotary > 14 extender > rotary, and if I can find them cheaply enough: a pair of Titan Blacks.

And if I somehow get a source of cheap 1680 V2s: find one that can do 4.8+ GHz.

EDIT: Ended up buying that Titan Black with the waterblock on EKA lol, €90 shipped. Now to find a 2nd one!

lmao I scored another Titan Black in the US... for $84 shipped. With how ****ed the Dollar is, that's... €75 lmfao

No IO bracket for some reason though. Eh, I'll come across one sooner than later anyway.

Seller found the IO bracket, and even better: he's got a 2nd card. Great, three Titan Blacks. 3-Way SLI time?

Titan Black #1 came in the mail, tested & working, swapped the XSPC block over from my own Titan, removed the power limit and that stupid GPU Boost 2.0 crap with Kepler BIOS Tweaker, and now it's in the BRR.

thanks to @pimposh the BRR now also has 4TB of storage... which is total ****ing overkill lmao

Titan Black #2 will come in the mail next week

The BRR kept having issues with low flow and I had a Alphacool Eisdecke D5 Dual top doing nothing because my Hailea chiller died before I could use it, so...

Full tilt everything it's so cool I can even hold 4.75 GHz on the CPU. Oh, and I PTM7950'ed the GPUs which also made a 2-3c difference.

Still kept getting shit flow so I decided to go nuclear: cleaned both GPU blocks (which was absolutely necessary holy shit did a bunch of crap accumulate in both) and backwashed the entire loop by means of the bathroom tap and a garden hose attached to the front rad, with the pump top draining into our bath.

Think I might've degraded my 1680V2 because of that damn Smeltdown patched BIOS giving me 1.6V, eugh now I gotta swap CPUs

Tons of benchmarking, running y-cruncher and Tm5 for hours later, I settled on 4.5 GHz. There's no way I can get 4.65+ stable long-term.

Ivy Bridge-EP also scales like ass to begin with. I get at most 2.5-3% more performance at 4.65

Did some major needed maintenance on the main rig. Drained, flushed and backwashed the system, redid PTM7950 on the GPU and applied PTM7950 to my CPU, and refilled with Compleat OAT like the other rigs.

Flow is definitely much better now.

Next step for the BRR: wait until those dunces from HighFlow finally get around to order a 200 mm Heatkiller Tube tube (lmao) since one of mine is ****ed/chipped and the standalone bottom so I can ditch the MultiPort top.

Well since the Better Retro Rig takes up a ungodly amount of dead space I decided to downsize... in the form of a Streacom BC1 V2 Bench Table.

If this case impresses me I might just end up building a new main rig with another BC1 once Zen 6 comes out.

inb4 "how the hell are you gonna cool a 1680V2 and two Titan Blacks?" with a MoRA3 420 obviously. I don't bench anymore so I reverted to air cooling on the bench setup and will use a 2x280 external rad setup to cool any WC GPUs I have. Bonus upside of the external rad setup: if I want to bench subambient I can easily connect my chiller.
