the HP 366i should be Intel i350 based, which should be perfectly fine for ESXi with SRIOV support.

On ESXI 6.5 you can edit passthru.map to force a pass thru of the sata ports. However, from 6.7 onwards, you can no longer edit passthru.map.

Pretty sure I edited my passthru.map on esxi 6.7 to pass through a sata controller on a socket 2011-3 motherboard. so I'd try to give it a shot.
