Happy 2017!

I’m with The IT Mart. Our first post on the Intel 2U servers has been very well received, so I’m back with another special. (Here’s the Intel server if you’re interested).

We just got a bunch of H220 controllers. These are HP branded 9205-8i LSI cards, SAS 2308.

STH forum members can have them for $45 shipped.

The item details are here, some leeway would be very appreciated as our website is under maintenance and will be pretty slow for the next day or two: Servers, Workstations & Computer Hardware | The IT Mart

I’ll also post the specs below to save you a click.

To get the special price: just email us at support@theitmart.com with your shipping address and we’ll take it from there.

Hey Deslok - I am fairly confident that they will work fine with Dell. Especially if you flash with LSI firmware.

We just got these in yesterday and are in the process of testing them in both a Supermicro and R730. I will keep you posted on results.

Any word on quantity available or how long the deal will be valid? I'm going to have to wait a week or two personally :(
This deal is basically good until I stop writing "2016" everywhere...which could take a while :)

In seriousness, we should be OK for at least the next week or two. Once we start running low, I'll shoot you a PM.

We have Intel S2600GZ boards and have used a variety of LSI controllers with them. The 9205 will be fine with the boards you mentioned.
Thanks for your quick response. I am still concerned as the S2600GZ boards are rack mount, not pedestal like the S2600CP2 boards, and are much lager boards. In the Intel world, there are a number of products compatible with S2600GZ that are not compatible with S2600CP2. I cannot find the actual size of the compatible Intel RMS25KBo8o but it says Low Profile MD2 card.

According to Intel's specs for the S2600CP2, it looks like it has 5 x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots. So the board itself will be fine with the card.

Even from the pictures, the RMS25KB080 looks similar to the H220 (9205-8i).

I unfortunately can't answer about the P4216XXMHGR chassis as I don't know what the back looks like. I'd assume that the card will fit if mounted with a low-profile bracket, but I couldn't find pics online.

For what its worth, we've used similar LSI cards in towers before and haven't had issues.

I got my card today. Well packed. Installed it into a Supermicro X9SCL. The card is already in IT mode. FreeNAS sees the card with all 8 drives attached. FreeNAS reports the FW version of Firmware: 15.10.09.00. I'm all set.

Thank you!

I ordered 2 a couple of weeks ago, and they shipped very fast. I've had them in a couple of servers I'm updating, connected to a couple of 24 port Intel Expanders, and they're working great.

Ordered a couple more for my next server upgrades to pair with 36 port Intel expanders.

Very satisfied so far, and excellent service.
