I'm just sharing this. if you need a 3-4 GPUs setup like I do, these are by far the best in the entire consumer space (z890 and x870e included). 5.0 x8/x8/x4/x4 (via the m.2 slot) and why not another m.2 4.0 x4 via the PCH for the gpu that drives the displays. there's also bifurcation, so maybe you could even do 6 x4 but I haven't, nor can I at the moment, tried.
MSI was the only one with a brain that used to prefer disabling USB-C/TB4 ports instead of halving the available internal slots like all other manufacturers, and now MSI as well, do. I was looking forward to the biostar z890 since it has the same layout as these x670e's, but yeah. they crippled it to x8/x4/x4. There are some boards that come with 3x m.2 5.0 and 2 x8/x8 slots, but they all turn off the second pcie slot if you decide to use the 2nd and 3rd 5.0 m2 slots.
any 5.0 card will get the equivalent of 3.0 x16 bandwidth on a x4 slot, which is basically going to have no effects at all on any GPU aside the 5090.
and nice little addition, you aren't giving up 1/3 or even 50% the single thread performance like you would with a zen2/3 epyc or spr-sp. im not even considering threadripper or xeon W as they have absurd prices. you could call these threadripper lite.
