I dont't think the changes include the compatibility for these ES CPU's (a way to get rid of these...).
it is a fact: BIOS 1.0 supports ES B0/C0, all later BIOS not.
only the X12DPi supports ES B0/C0 up to BIOS 1.1c

The saga continues. I successly solder a new chip on and it flashed back to the 1.0 bios. It still won't POST and now I suspect a CPU microcode update? Is there a tool to verify what Microcode the CPU is on, or any I now out of luck?

update to BIOS 1.4b will update BIOS GOlden to 1.4b
so now you have BIOS 1.4b in staging.

oh so it flashed the new chip back to 1.4b. Good thing I bought 2. Time to desolder this one and solder on the other one. The programer ( Keeyess programmer )I got doesn't have an SOIC socket, only a clip. Is it safe to clip it on to the MB and directly program it?

if you have the BIOS, what about downgrade in BMCWebGUI ??
downgrade to 1.0 is not allowed

Update on this. I got the bios reprogrammed and a new chip soldered on. Now it won't post at all and shows Post code "FF", but shows the CPU in the IPMI. The IPMI lights all turn on and I'm able to connect via the web. Any guesses of what to check?

I think it's the last. I'm getting smaller probes for my multimeter to check continutity. I was hoping you'd say it was something easier.

I couldn't find a SOIC socket in stock anywhere. I used a MACRONIX / MX25L25673GM2I-08G chip.
chip is correct. soldered in wrong orientation ?

I lined up the dot with the arrow. I think the issue is with pin 7. My smaller test probes should be here tomorrow.
Thanks for the socket link. Ordered one as a backup. I still have another blank chip as well.

Got a slightly different processor and now it's giving me a new error and not posting. In the IPMI it says "

[CPU-0005] Configuration error - Assertion
"
I'm running
