But not sold by newegg so probably some more marketplace shadiness.Looks like Newegg dropped the price as well.

Good point. I haven't bought anything from NewEgg since I voted against adding the marketplace. But not sold by newegg so probably some more marketplace shadiness.
Yeah, the Marketplace seller listing these on Newegg has a 77% feedback rating. Looking at Feedback, comment on top is, "I ordered two new hard drives. After install, I found that the drives were actually used drives with over 38,000 hours of usage in them."Looks like Newegg dropped the price as well.

I could not agree more! I've since redacted my post above (but left for posterity).Solid research. Train wreck avoided.
It was just a simple feedback check. And honestly, I have a hard time remembering that I have to check the SELLER and their feedback on Newegg now, so I bet a lot of other people do too. Folks like me, who've been buying from Newegg for over a decade, have gotten used to assuming Newegg is the seller. I'm still not used to treating them with the same caution I show with Ebay.Solid research. Train wreck avoided.
Got my tracking number even he was supposedly on vacation. Hopefully it will get dropped off at fedex soon.I have one on the way. Haven't received shipping confirmation yet tho.
Yeah, it's just like Amazon Marketplace sellers, except it sounds like there's less buyer protection... I still buy from Newegg every now and then, but only "sold by Newegg" with rare exceptions (DJI official store comes to mind). If you have a problem with a Newegg seller you are completely on your own. Newegg won't do squat to help you. This is why I haven't bought from Newegg in years. They are less than honest.
$20 or less ? Please post back if you find one.Got my tracking number even he was supposedly on vacation. Hopefully it will get dropped off at fedex soon.
You got any suggestion for a cheap $20 or less 8 port sas controller that will recognize these 10TB+ or bigger drives? I tried adaptec 52445 and 6805T and seems no go even with latest firmware
I would buy from Newegg but they haven't been the cheapest on anything in a long time. Besides, Amazon and eBay are less of a risk.Yeah, it's just like Amazon Marketplace sellers, except it sounds like there's less buyer protection... The one that i have in another system that seems to work appears to be a Dell H310 or H200 flashed with IT firmware. it's based on the LSI 2008$20 or less ? Please post back if you find one.
