Having done a 100' aerial run of OM3 between my house and detached garage / office by myself... trust me, if you want it done right, suck it up and pay someone else to do it.
That is 100% the plan. Finding someone to do a "small" job like that in the bay area is hard.

You and me both.... I should start tracking the money this site has cost me in only a couple months on it :(
If you're replacing, or avoiding buying in the first place, some old switch with 10GbE ports then one of these literally pays for itself in reduced power! How many threads on here can say that?

For my configs:

Quanta LB4M: 68w
Quanta LB6M: 129w
Ubiquiti US-16-XG: 18.75w

Where I live, every watt saved is about $1/year. If your gear is heating up an air conditioned space, that's even more savings!

:p

Wow! On months I use more than 2000kW, which is 10-11 months per year, I only pay $0.074 here in Texas.

@Marsh - a bit of context for those not in CA, PG&E is 337.9 kWh for Tier 1, another 337.9 kWh in Tier 2 and then over that Tier 3.

It is very easy to hit Tier 3.

You agreed to the TOS by signing up with the Beta Program...

I think it's more of a CYA by their legal team since UBNT's whole company is all about Ubiquiti evangelists selling their products for them.
