Nice, just what I wanted to see. What is this thing based on surely not broadcom trident/tomahawk (forget what it is off hand)?

Anyone down to make it bleed w/ all ports lit/full on 10G transfer to see if we can make it tip over? :-D

Sitting here w/ cart loaded...must...resist...I KNOW my 4 ports of 10G on my ex3300 are gonna bite me in the arse 'someday' but I don't REALLY need it now. Gonna maintain discipline/exhibit restraint.

My switch arrived today. Thank you @Aestr and @Jeff Robertson for the heads up on the 5.4.3 controller release. It probably would have taken a couple of hours to figure out why the controller I was runnign couldn't see the switch.

I didn't have any trouble with any of the DAC cables I have. I know the 3-meter ones are Juniper DACs, and the 1-meter ones are Cisco "generics" from China. Unfortunately I don't have good part number references on them for the comparability list.

The unifi-controller interface is does't give a lot of control, but basic VLAN configs are all I need for now. I am a little disappointed that there is no way to configure a fully-tagged trunk (can't seem to get VLAN 1 tagged) but I can work with it.

Given the price I am definitely very satisfied
This is GREAT news @PigLover now you can unload that EX2500 I've been secretly coveting FOREVER! hah

:-( sadness fills my heart :p

This sure is a nice overall pkg/envelop for a piece of homelab network gear.

Heh. My budget is tight right now but my justification is that replacing 2x LB4M + 1x LB6M with 2x US-16-XG will save at least 200w, so they pretty much pay for themselves.

Rushed to decom the LB4M in my office today for the noise reduction. I can just barely hear the US-16-XG from my desk 16' away.

Me too, I stop using LB4M , LB6M , EX3300 , Mellanox IS5030 switches.
Even my hearing is really bad for an old man, noise from these switches still driving me nuts.
I am start liking the newer US-16-XG switch.

I still see the $299 offer. Make sure you're signed in.

Replaced the switch in my rack late last night, it's drawing 18.75w with 6x 10GbE DACs, 1x 10GbE MM LC module, and 2x 1GbE copper ports active. I've netted 225w savings from the 2x LB4Ms & 1x LB6M.

Also still see $299. What are you guys using for 1G ports if you're swapping out LB4Ms? US-48-500W or ES-48-Lite look like the only ones with SFP+ uplinks.

I've been weaning myself off of 1G ports for my servers so I'm getting by with the copper ports. Taking a hard look at the US-8 / US-8-60W for other spots around the house where a managed switch might be handy but 10GbE would be overkill.

@tby not as fancy but I have been doing the same thing. 1GbE is just for management ports at this point :) Mikrotik CRS226's.

Just need to find how to get fiber pulled through the house and I will have a 60W NAS with 40GbE.
