Hi,
I'm jumping into proper server hardware (finally) and there are a lot of unknowns for me. The server that I am replacing (well taking back for my own use) is a 3900x w/ MSI Meg Ace x570 board. The types of apps running currently do not put much load on the machine (nextcloud, forgejo, plex -> jellyfin soon, matrix, few small docker containers).
I found a AMD EPYC 7302p+Supermicro H11SSL-nc combo on eBay for $409.40 USD, is this a good deal?
Link to eBay listing
I'm trying to buy used where I can to save money.
Is there anything to watch out for with the Supermicro boards? This is rev 2.00
Should I try to find any specific ECC ram?
Standard PSU should work? I don't need redundant PSU's.
I plan on using an nvme boot drive and I have a (2) disk BTRFS setup I'll be moving over.
Thanks,
-Frank
