I am thinking of buying a TPM module for my H12SSL-i, to make it easier to install windows 11.
Supermicro says the AOM-TPM-9665V is recommended for windows 11. I read in this thread previously that some are having issues with the supermicro TPM module. Is it working more reliably now? I am running bios 2.4.

That was me. I ended up not using TPM so I do not know

I have a question about the power usage monitoring. It always reports 0 Watts, but I'm not sure if this is actually monitoring anything on the motherboard, or if it relies on a separate connection to a compatible power supply that reports the usage.

In case someone runs into this on an H12SSL-i, if you place an Intel X710-DA2 cards in an x8 slot and leave the other x8 slot empty, the system will hang on startup at "PCI Bus Enumeration 94".

The workarounds I've discovered are:
- Move the card to an x16 slot.
- Or put another card in the other x8 slot.

I can replicate this with 3 different H12SSL-i motherboards, and 3 different X710-DA2 cards. I found a reddit post with a similar issue with an LSI 9207-8i so I suspect it's a Supermicro quirk.

Supermicro is unhelpful. The X710 isn't a validated card, so they don't guarantee support.

TrueNAS Scale works for me on H12SSL-i, both on bare metal as well as running inside Proxmox.

Tested TN Scale and currently running Proxmox both Debian based and they both run fine.

Interesting, having this issue with a system that has an HBA and a mellanox card in it, forget which slots so I'll have to try moving stuff around and see if that fixes it.

How you connect 16 sata hard drives on it? on the H12SSL-i there are 8 port.

Which cable you use? you must buy it or it's include with the motherboard?

8 via on board ports 8 via LSI HBA (booting off mirrored M.2). The exact cable(s) needed would depend on your HBA and if your chassis has a backplane or not so I can't answer that part.

I’m currently running 16x1tb SATA drives on my h12ssl-nt using only two slimsas cables.

this is natively supported by epyc.

LSI 9400 -i16 can accept 16 drives or if you dont want to buy HBA, H12SSL-i has 8 onboard SATA and another 8 can be done via JNVME port (SlimSAS 8i SFF-8654 to 8X SATA Cable)
