Yep so pretty much as I expected, it's all the same physical connector. My SAS drive too has all the pins on the other side.

@Chriggel 's photos are way better than mine lol.

It personally caught me off guard as I had always associated it with NVMe. It's funny because I was spending years installing systems with these SAS drives in them. Never had reasons to pull drives- I wasn't the break/fix guy!

But like you said, just need to read what it says on the tin.
