Thanks for the heads up. I bought it and they shipped it out the same day. Got it today and it was slightly better packaging. They added heavy paper to pad the sides.
Looks good - I haven't had a chance to fire it up as yet but it does look like I also got a ram upgrade, 64gb instead of 32gb.
Needs to be dusted though, the grills looked pretty caked.
@cptcrunch can I get the install tip as well ?

If not QS: Silver 4215 and 4215T are cheapest options, sometimes you can get them cheap. But it is the one and only silver CPU which offers PMEM support.

only the 2nd gen OEMs are sometimes cheap, but you need VRM modd to support (most of) them.

From your latest guide is MCP2221a enough to mode the VRM for T7820 or we still need the hard to find Infineon one? If I'm read correctly it seems someone successfully mod the T7920 with MCP2221a and the T7820 has the same 3-pin?

The infineon is not available and not required anymore.

I ordered one from preownedtech and received a 5820 with single cpu, rather than 7820 with dual cpu. Hopefully it was just an honest mistake..

Thats weird. They do sell both models, so it is possible that the shipping labels got mixed up or something. The one I ordered was correct. The only issue I had was the rear handle was broken due to not a whole lot of packaging... but the rest of the system was fine.

I'm sure it was. I think that seller clearly documents their serials so I doubt you will see any pushback. I ordered four 7810's from them a few weeks ago and one of them was a 5610. They issued me a return label, although I haven't gotten around to sending it back yet.

I also ordered 3x7820's and they are all in great condition. I would give their packing job a B+. Diagnosing a memory issue on one of them but the problem isn't clear yet.

The 7820's are surprisingly heavy for their size..

Yeah the service tag they sent me is for the machine I received, so it seems like a clear mix-up on their part.

Mine just came with dual cpu, memory and ssd. It's the same spec as described on service tag. Condition is very good except a scratch on the top.

I'm able to mod the VRM to use high power CPU(8259cl) by following the guide.

It feels like the heat sink for dual CPU config might not be able to cool 8259CL efficiently. I might switch to single CPU with a larger heat sink.
