All the ones I found on eBay were new from Lenovo parts suppliers. It was half the price to buy from China, but I'm in the UK so YMMV.I have a m920q on the way. Encompass do not stock the riser card anymore.
anyone bought one off eBay with good experience?
also which cooler works for 65W cpu?
I have only seen this problem discussed when people are trying to install the official Lenovo Thunderbolt card. I use the four port Intel NIC with a "16x" riser, no issues. Will do a price check on Taobao. Hopefully shipping is not too expensive.
I see your comment on x8 or x16 may prevent to card from working. Does it to only apply to the NIC card?
that’s very helpful. This will open up options. Will order different risers once the New Year holiday week is over.I have only seen this problem discussed when people are trying to install the official Lenovo Thunderbolt card. I use the four port Intel NIC with a "16x" riser, no issues.
the metal parts can be removed
I like to avoid cutting into sheet metal. There is room under the silver bracket to tuck the card under before pushing down onto the pcie slot.the metal parts can be removed
yes I have a 3 node vSan setup with 3 m920q's. Each with 64gb ram , 256 nvme, 1 tb 2.5 ssd and a extra usb nicAnyone here running ESXi on theirs? I'm thinking of replacing a bunch of Raspberry pi's with one of these and leverage my already existing Vsphere platform. It will need to have vt-d though to passthrough USB (reading a smart power meter).
