That's always the problem, isn't it? I'm practically idling most of my lab. I need a reason to upgrade!

Bahhaha! That's extremely funny....and true! I had two 30amp 220/circuits with a big ups on each with voltage readings and was showing 1500ish watts each with a bunch of gear just idling. My power company loved it. Especially when I was distributing x264 over a couple dozen dual processor nodes and started tripping the over draw circuitry at 60 amps total. Now a couple dozen of those quads would push those Kwh up there.

Pot..no officer that's my hydroponic herb garden!

You know how I feel about micron drives... but...... There is just something to be said for m.2.

I just forget what it is....

get me some nvme m.2 ssd's at reasonable prices and i'll jump for joy.

actually the perf of optane at QD1 is really intriguing. The next few years could see the dedicated HDD/SSD go the way of the dodo.

Interesting, plenty of possibilities with the Hyper Kit or Intel 750 M.2 Express Bay adapter (if compatible).

Beyond the ASUS motherboard, I'm curious if the m.2 Express Bay adapter would potentially work on a partially populated HP Moonshot Platform + m300, m400, m710 cartridges + NVMe power source:

m300 (the adapter looks to be the right size for m300, bottom right corner) :

All of the m.2 drives sold for the moonshot are sata based drives.
I can try a pcie drive in one but I doubt it will accept it.
nvme would require additional support...

And for the cuda compute box... a K80, because money.
