PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1483 is AMD Starship/Matisse GPP Bridge
subsys PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1453 is PCIe GPP Bridge
Thanks for replying, I not so sure that if my 6800xt is connected to this GPP Bridge, but the error is gone when I force the pcie runs at gen3 in bios. So there maybe some problem with pcie gen4.

You might be able to get the first slot running at Gen4 speeds, but definitely not the bottom slots.

Hi everyone, long time lurker, been sitting on the bench waiting for a good deal on a OEM/QS chip.
Was finally able to score an 100-000000053-04 64-core 225W chip for a great price.
I was really trying to hold off 2S/ZS cause of the AGESA/BIOS issues with PCIe4.0 boards, I really wanted PCIe4.0 and not 3.0.
Was able to get an Asrock ROMED8-2T from Newegg/ebay and 128GB ram from nemixram.com.
Now I need to build the Thermaltake W200 case for it.
Here are a few pics of the test-bench.

To say I'm excited would be an understatement!

Next phase after we put it in its case would be to unleash the beast with some overclocking.

I'm also thinking about a custom loop.

Nice they are very fun chips indeed, power limit seems to be 280w(never managed to get it over that without tripping some OCP) but to hit that and high clocks you really need strong cooling on the vrm before the cpus itself, if you put it in a desktop case either fans directly blowing on the VRM or waterblock it.
All the Epyc motherboards are made for right to left air flow, while the desktop cpu coolers are made for bottom-top flow. you can see it on your own board how the vrm heatsink fins don't line up with your CPU cooler, before I water-cooled my system I just strapped fans directly to the vrm heatsink to deal with it.

edit: might be less of an issue with single cpu.
also has anyone tested the rome overclock util on windows11? was getting cpu not supported last time i tested but that was an older build

Great info/tips, thanks!
I am planning on doing something similar to what you've done a while ago, and I'm going to be thorough with my testing.
I also ordered a 2nd Noctua fan to be mounted on the other side of the heatsink.

One off-topic question about IPMI:
I connected to the site just fine, but when i do remote control all I see if blank screen.
When I move the cursor it does move on the server's desktop, it's just that I don't see a picture.
Asrock provided two methods of connection, one was java, the other I don't recall, but they both behaved the same, no picture but mouse does move.
Is it because I booted Windows with a GPU in a slot? an old ATI 5770.

I'm not sure what you mean? If I am able to control the mouse why the video is blank?
Do i need to configure something in order to see the video output in the BMC via the GPU?

the BMC (AST2500/AST2600) includes the GPU for the remote. switch to it (remove the ATI)
the mouse is connected to the HOST.

if you want to see the ATI picture, connect a remote to the ATI gpu
if the picture/screen is not made in the BMCs VGA you can not see anything.

i thought it is easy to understand but it seems not, sorry.
the BMC can not access the the ATI GPUs memory. it works only with the integrated VGA of the BMC.

Thought it can be overclocked only using old agesa < 1.0.0.3 which isn't the case with asrock Bios
100-000000053-04
it is not a ZS/2S ES, it is QS with production stepping
old ZS/2S ES need AGESA < 1.0.0.3 to run.

Yes sure but EDC bug used by the software was fixed with later Agesa.
used to OC the ZS/2S ES. the QS is officialy unlocked and don't need that.
i recommend to read the thread again. it is mostly about bad stepping ES, not QS.

Yeah, I'll report about overclocking once I get everything built and stable.
@irgen, I thought from what I've been reading in the whole thread that -04 chips are unlocked and can be overclocked similar to 2S/ZS chips.
@RolloZ170, so I can't view any video output via IPMI that is not output via the IPMI's VGA output?
I need to do more reading regarding IPMI, I think my impression of it is all wrong.
BTW, I also have an Asus Hyper M.2 (both pcie3.0 and pcie4.0 cards), so I'll see how that works with bifurcation.
So much to do, so little time...

correct.
the BMC (AST2500/AST2600 chip) is running a webserver(IPMI WebGUI) which has only access to it's integrated VGA card.
this is OS independent.
if you want to use your ATI install teamviewer or similar, but this only works as soon as the OS has started.
