link?

one reason is for prime shipping.

If you're talking about MCP-220-00043-0N I don't see any that are 7 or 8 bucks -without- 13 dollar shipping on the 'bay. When people sell cheap stuff with BO they usually only budge like 1 to 3 dollars off the price anyway.

This always happens :)

We all dogpile on a ebay seller and he thinks he struck a goldmine. Well until he raises the price and we all stop buying.

At $140/ $150 we would probably be posting these as a great deal. Now everyone is spoiled.

Same thing happened on that Intel (Hitachi re-brand) $119 deal, only that was 400GB MLC model more akin to a HUSML4040ASS600 I believe.

I missed out on that (no spare funds avail) so I hope these come through. Anyone seen any traction or movement or been contacted by seller? I sent a msg asking for similar manufacturing dates/FW revisions if at all possible but nothing back yet.

I got an auto-acknowledgement email when I ordered, but nothing else.

This forum is a terrible influence on me. I've spent quite a bit of $$ on storage I don't really need in the last couple of weeks. :p

Read full thread, the info is contained within :-D 34nm (ASS) v.s. 25nm (BSS) manufacturing process/fab.
Oops. Not sure why I missed that post. What price do you guys think is reasonable for the BSS ones?

Well now we all have skewed perspectives for a bit right after today...I used to think anything under .50cents per gig on these devices ass/bss was a good deal and usually is so anywhere from $140-150 as @Patrick says but even then you rarely see ass/bss 400gb models for under $150 or really even close to it. Like I said last week or so there were a few BSS models that went for $189 and those folks were pretty happy to get in on that deal.

As others have stated, a good/great deal is pretty subjective...sure there's a baseline but there are odd days like today that can put a bad taste in your mouth to now go get some for $200+ a piece. I 'may' be unloading my qty 4 hussl4020ass600 models here soon for a fair price so keep an eye out on the FS thread.

Just wondering, does the lifespan (or performance in general) drop of the 25nm chips over the 34nms apply to SLCs? In other words, are the ASS drives better than the BSS ones given the same price?

No idea good sir, I just know they are both rated at endurance ratings that will likely outlive all of us and they see 'true' sustained data rates 24/7 w/ no performance degradation from what I have seen using them over the last couple of years.
