LSI 9271-8i compatibility with HGST HUH728080ALE604 drives

I had some similar issues too, but not with that drives. My setup was ESXi 6.5u1 and a LSI 9271-8i with CacheCade and CacheVault. I had 2x500GB Samsung 850Evo in Raid1 and 4x 4TB HGST Megascale in Raid 10. Sometimes for both arrays i got latency warnings in ESXi and the system was not responsive...

LSI 9266-8i won't boot with CacheVault module installed

I would not use a 850 Evo and the LSI Raid Controller. I had two 850 Evo 500G on my LSI 9271-8i in Raid1 and after some time performance was terrible (~50mb/s). I dont know if this is better when you only format 75% of the capacity. I formated 100%. Even with writeback mode performance was not...

Problem with Supermicro X10SDV-8C-TLN4F and Turbo Boost :(

Hello FKrebs, thanks for your answer. I figured this out yesterday, too, and searched a lot in windows registry and compared win10 vs. win2016 for the balanced power scheme. The ""Processor Power management settings and configurations" are located here...

    Intel Xeon D-1500 Series Discussion

i wrote to the supermicro support and they confirmed that this is a hard limit on the xeon d cpus. so although it is not supported, the cpu will never recognize these large dimms.

New Board and CPU for ESXi Homeserver, which socket?

So.. everything is up an running (hopefully stable). For me it was not easy to change the fan. The screws are too low and the cooler did not go off easily. I fixed the new noctua with wire. Unfortunately my power consumption did not improve and it even needs about 10w more than my old system...

ESXi and Bios Settings for Energy/Power

I have read a bit about the topic ESXi and bios settings and often it is mentioned one should put the P States on "OS Controlled" and set the option in the ESXi to balanced or in very rare cases high performance. In Supermicro Bios, there are settings like HW_ALL, SW_ALL and SW_ANY. So i think...
