There is a local wallet. You can also get an account at Kraken and they can generate an address for you. You can them mine and point to that address. From an ease standpoint that is probably the way to go.

I can help with the CPU mining script. Will post when I am on my laptop.

if you can put up some links where to get miner, link to exchange rates, etc. that would be helpful.

Also if i want to run this on my dual e5 rig which is running esxi, should i create a linux vm and put most of my cores on it?

so my laptop running a windows version of the code and 8 threads on i7-6820hk is doing 24.6 sols/s for comparison.

Are there gpu based miners yet?

update: my laptop cpu does have avx2.

I tried using NiceHashMiner_v1.7.3.3 windows program on the laptop to get some ideas on what my hardware can do.

My Nvidia 1080 GTX card was doing 48.847 MH/s lyra2rev2 which is 2.60x mBTC/Day or 1.85 usd/day. At that rate it barely pays for electricity for me.

Intel e3-1265L v3 was doing 18.423 sols/s or .38x mBTC/day which is .27 usd/day lol. it using 108 Watts. it doesnt cover electricity at this rate.

looks like my two 290x cards can make 3.30 usd/day mining daggerhashimo at 53 MH/s. Eletricity is 720watts. but that including raid card and drives. after elect, i would make about 40 a month while producing 700 watts of heat lol.

Not profitable but you are right, it is possible. The big issue is that as things go ASICs, general purpose hardware becomes useless.

And yesterday was a really bad day in the NH pool.

I am going to update the script with the zcash.flypool.org pool. Seems MUCH bigger to the point it generates blocks hourly.

@gigatexal In the first 4 hours I did 0.012 ZEC. Seems better than the old pool.

For those wondering, that is about $1.10. :)

did you have to specify a port like with your previous guide?

with the new pool i'm not mining for some reason:
