@mrpasc: Ah, very well! If that Ufile.io and workupload.com is not ok for you, how about I provide a private ftp server?

To extract sometimes many matroshka-like compression layers I use a portable Total Commander 10.52 and the Total7zip plugin from 2012 with a later 22.01 7-Zip under Wine. One of the really few power tools I miss on my Linux desktop.

Xyratex controllers have a 3.5mm serial console port. Here is the pinout

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was curious about this. Im confused about RS232 cables and despite all my reading I dont seem to understand this question. Is a cable I buy from say, Amazon that has a 3.5mm end and an RS232 end pinned the same as this or do I need this proprietary cable to do the work ?

If it's wired 1:1 the same then yes. To be sure, test it with a multimeter.

If not, never try it out. Voltage on the wrong pins can and will do persistent damage.

As a followup - At first all I could get was gibberish. I realized by accident with the 3.5mm cable partially removed, I saw the output from the server, but could not do any input. It occurred to me at that point that in my connection somehow the input and outputs were reversed. I got a null modem adapter and after using that everything worked as it should.

Vendor: NETAPP
Product: X356_S16333T8ATE
Revision: NA04

P/N: MZILS3T8HCJM-000G3

The disks is formated in 512 and working when in the org netapp caddy, tested in different Avago LSI SAS2 and SAS3 controllers, but dosent work without Netapp caddys, they dont show up at all.

it would be nice to have them working as a standalone in HPE servers and noname servers with SASx cards, i got alot of disks
Thanks

Okay, checked my archives, NA04 is latest for X356_S16333T8ATE (09/07/2021) even in firmware bundle from October 2023.

Mostly this is a power issue. Try to use MOLEX power adapters whcih do not have a 3.3V rail. X356_S16333T8ATE works perfectly fine for me connected directly to a Dell HBA330 with 12V and 5V power supply.

Do you got any example URL or picture of the "MOLEX power adapter" ?

I use a Std power supply 600W and the upper disk in the NetApp Caddy starts and the BIOS finds it, and the lower one did BIOS not found.

@mrpasc You are absolutly right, its was a Power issue i tested with a powercable you attached and it works and i also cut the orange cable from the PSU and it also works fine.
Next test will be on at HPE gen 9 server with HPE controller card and see if that works, if not i migth switch to another HBA card, this disk would be nice in a RAID10 settup for vShere lab servers =)

BIG thanks for your input :)
