I killed my S2600CP2J doing a bios update, so I am looking for a replacement board. Please let know the model you want to sell, and your price.

Is there no way to recover your mainboard, even by pulling the flash and writing a good copy of the bios to it directly?
I am in way over my head. You suggestion is excellent, but I was challenged enough even with assistance in building the server. I also am a little short on time, and my lack of expertise makes doing anything very time consuming.

I had another thread on the problem at BIOS Update Disaster Intel S2600CP2J.
Lennong and Terry Kennedy both thought the UEFI recovery files I was trying to use were not the correct files to use. Lennong also suggested removing the flash and writing a good copy of the bios to it. DarkKnight had some really good suggestions (beep codes, led codes,minimalist installation), but I was overwhelmed.

BIOS RECOVERY INSTRUCTIONS
================================================================================
BIOS RECOVERY INSTRUCTIONS:
The Recovery process can be initiated by setting the recovery jumper
(called BIOS Recovery Boot Jumper).

A BIOS recovery can be accomplished from a USB Mass Storage device.

Please note that recovery from USB floppy is not supported on this platform.

The recovery media must contain the following files under the root directory:
1. RML.ROM
2. UEFI iFlash32 11.0 Build 8 or higher (including ipmi.efi )
3. *Rec.CAP
4. Startup.nsh
NOTE: unzip to root of usb drive files should be under BIOS Recovery Files\ folder on the zip file you downloaded above. Also extract the whole zip onto the usb drive in a folder so you have files ready to finish updating.

BIOS starts the recovery process by first loading and booting to the recovery
image file (RML.ROM) on the root directory of the recovery media (USB disk).
This process takes place before any video or console is available. Once the
system boots to this recovery image file, it will boot automatically into EFI
Shell to invoke the Startup.nsh script and start the flash update application
(IFlash32.efi). IFlash32.efi requires the supporting BIOS Capsule image file
(R02.06.0002Rec.CAP). After the update is complete, there will be a message displayed
stating that the "BIOS has been updated successfully" indicating the recovery
process is finished. The user should then power off the system and switch the
recovery jumper back to normal operation before starting the system.

The following steps demonstrate this recovery process:
1. Power OFF the system.
2. Insert recovery media.
3. Switch the recovery jumper. Details regarding the jumper ID and location
can be obtained from the Board EPS for that Platform.

4. Power ON the system.
5. The BIOS POST screen will appear displaying the progress and system
automatically boots to the EFI SHELL.
6. Startup.nsh file executes, and initiates the flash update (IFlash32.efi)
with new capsule file (R02.06.0005Rec.CAP). The regular IFlash message will be
displayed at the end of the process, once the flash update succeeds.
7. Power OFF the system by using the front panel button or the "reset -s"
EFI Shell command, and revert the recovery jumper position to
"normal operation".
8. Power ON the system.
9. Do *NOT* interrupt the BIOS POST during the first boot.

Per the manual the jumper is located on diagram location of BA.

1. Once you recover, remove the files from the usb drive in the root path.
2. You can boot back into EFI Shell,
3. get back to the usb drive using
Change the Shell to the mapped device file system
Example: Shell> fs0: (or fs1:)
4. Go into folder with full unzipped files from drivers ( not the recovery folder)
5. run Startup.nsh

That will run all the other .nsh and update all the bios components.


Hope this helps.
Full discloser, i have not done a recovery process before. the info above is based on intel documentation.
The process updating documented above does work, as i have done it to two different intel servers now.

@Son of Homer Worst case and if nothing else works, I have the equipment to lift the chip, reprogram it and put it back down on the board. If you get stuck and don't mind the postage back and forth to Canada, I'm happy to do it for you :)
