What LSI card for Supermicro JBOD

I'm looking at getting the SuperChassis 826BE1C-R609JBOD and I'm struggling to figure out what LSI card to get for it.

This will be going into an ROMED8-2T (PCIe 4.0 x16) running TrueNAS SCALE.

If I get an 8 port HBA does that mean only 8 drives would be seen, and I would need a 2nd card for all 12 drives?

I'm also open to changing what JBOD I use, just needs to be at least 12 bay, and not that loud.

Any decent HBA with a 12gbs external sas port should work. LSI SAS 9300-8E 8-Port 12Gb/s 12Gbps External HBA Controller Bus Card | eBay

This chassis comes with an expander backplane, unless you have other plans for direct connecting drives, so pretty much any of the 12Gbps external 8-port cards will work fine. The backplane itself has expander ports for daisy chaining more storage if that is also something you are looking at
