Wake on LAN isn't OS-independant?

For anyone who may have been intently following this story(as I'm sure exactly none of you are) the wifi relay switch arrived yesterday and works.

Surprisingly easy to install(given its engrish instructions). It does one thing, but it does it very well.

Are the Homematic plugs "smart" enough to stay off if mains power goes out and comes back on?

Yes, it does here. Not sure how dependent on CCU that is. I don't have a CCU since I use OpenHAB. And I think you can use it even without any central unit if you have an easy setup. But seems like you already found a working solution.

Generally the issue w/ Windows 10 WOL is hybrid sleep. After changing the settings in the registry, WOL works perfectly. Even if the PC is powered off. Been 6 months and updates have never had any affect on it.
