It is an Inspur-branded LSI9300-8i. It's not the first time the controllers were featured in "Great Deals", each time with lower price. I have one, initially I had a little bit of problems to boot the system with card installed and UEFI bios, fixed by tweaking bios settings (https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...ed-lsi9300-8i-for-50.39768/page-2#post-374766).
I flashed the card with plain LSI bios and IT firmware, and now it works without problems in HBA mode.

HSV and SFO
guessing its basicly a LSI 9361-8i ish
It's the ish part that always makes me wary about a deal like this. If it can't work like the real deal, what are the shortcomings and will that be a problem? What are the workarounds? It's questions like this that without a quick and obvious answer do make me tend to just look the other way.

That idea is what made me pass on this deal. By the time I actually get around to needing it, I'm pretty sure the prices will be even lower (because it isn't going to be anytime soon).

Same seller has a bit of network cards at pretty decent prices also, like this connectx4 40gbe for 39,99$.

That tends to be a 150-200$ card and rarely cheap esxi8/connectx4 40gbe cards around in general.
Somewhat tempted to grab a stack of them.
