I'd like to keep the price below 600, and obviously avoid anything QLC. Besides that I've got choice paralysis
Must be NVMe and 4TB "class" (so 3.6 would be acceptable) as a single drive, unless theres a screamingly better option at 2TB (I could do 2 drives, but prefer a single drive for this) I would highly prefer new, but with enough reasoning I could justify certified used. There will be 4-8 VMs running on the drive at any given time, and it's a xcp-ng (xen) host if that makes any difference. I'm more concerned about endurance and random/small IO than top speed. The server itself is only PCIe gen 3 anyways.
