Could anybody who has received tracking info confirm when their order was placed? I ordered Nov 1 0400 EST & invoice still shows "pending". Expecting cancellation, as vendor removed price from item listing.

Just received tracking, pleasantly surprised. Emailed support before ordering to ask if metal bracket included, but no response yet. Will update after receipt (eta Sat 11/5).

If its like the 826 backplanes the bracket from another (SAS2) can probably be removed and installed on the SAS3 backplane (unless they moved the screw holes which I tend to doubt)

Got it installed in a chassis and all is good. I was expecting to run into the 16 drive limit I've read about somewhere here but it didn't happen. All 24 drives are detected. HBA is a SM AOC.

Dang, slightly regret not snagging one myself. No immediate need and I thought there was only one left.

For anyone who missed out previous sale, same vendor has ebay listing with best offer. Price increased from $150 to $200.

Also listed on vendor website, possible sales tax savings.

not really a perf increase, there is a throughput increase. Not really viewable from a performance perspective as you are still limited by spinning disks.

the big difference is that you can use larger disks than sas2 version that is basically limited to a few large disks or 24 2 TB disks

I think you meant SAS1 ?

I've yet to see any issue with SAS2 and disks >2TB.
