Ran into this looking for something that would both fit in and catch on fire my HP T740 so it seemed like a good deal. Quad 10 gig for $20 seems pretty awesome to me.

edit: Forgot to mention that the guy does quantity discounting if you buy more.

Edit: I might have mixed up my part numbers, nevermind, but I have found quad 10G IBM Emulex cards full of SFP+ modules for $25 before and they work very well.

It’s an Emulex card, and from Googling around there are a fair amount of people who have purchased a similar card and it seems like getting the right firmware on it and getting it working in Linux or Windows is a huge pain.
The original IBM manual makes it seem like this came out of a POWER server.

Emulex? Do these work with FreeBSD/pfSense?
Yes, I used a similar card for years with pfSense (and my server) and it worked great. It supported more features than my Intel based NIC also.

This was not my experience when I used a similar Emulex IBM card, it was plug and play. I have had one issue with an Emulex NICs, but it was an HP NC550SFP+ and it was very cheap and really old firmware that was surely more to do with HP than anything.

I got this card today. It draws about 10 watts and it works in pfSense straight away with no added drivers needed. So far I really like it. Well worth the $20

Does ASPM work ? I'd be mainly interested in GNU/Linux Testing though. Yes, it will be used for Pfsense, but most likely through Linux Bridge in Proxmox VE.

The motherboard I am using doesn't seem to have bios support for ASPM, so I don't know.

OK, dumb question, but other than an IR thermometer that I can point at this thing, how would I do that in pfSense?
