Does anybody know a vendor in Germany or EU for the Q20331G9-1U (C3758R version)?

I can find it on Amazon and Aliexpress, but they are not shipping to my address.
One German shop I found (Eckstein), but this is quite expensive.

Weird? Have you tried contacting Qotom directly, either through AliExpress, email or Alibaba?

Doing so through AliExpress might be simpler and I can confirm that it's the same people responding to you either way. I spoke with Catryna recently when I bought another mini PC model from them and she was very helpful. :)

it seems like stock of C3758R has finally dried out and C3808 is the new top ... 12 cores but only 2ghz max
I wonder if it works like before where the CPUs/SoCs offered varies from time to time or whether the C3758R is more difficult to source for Qotom now and won't be coming back anytime soon? I did see the C3758 non-R in one listing but not the R. :)

My guess is that the C3758R pit is running very dry by now, and they are are looking for new "piles" of chips to keep product-line going.

Yeah, that could be why. :)

Pricing might also have made them less feasible in case other larger vendors have decided to buy up much of the remaining supply. Either way, they seem very hard to get now, that's for sure. :) The only higher performance ones now both seem to be capped at 2.0 GHz, one 12 core and one mysterious 16 core.

That's because less and less shops on aliexpress want to deal with the increasing bureaucracy-bullshit when selling electronics to germany and aliexpress is enforcing those rules on the sellers - so they simply exclude germany or only ship there at (heavily) increased prices.
If you live near a border, just get an address in the nearest neigbouring country. There are usually shipping centres exactly for this purpose where you can rent an address where you can have packages sent to and either forwarded to you or you pick them up there.
I have nearly half of my aliexpress orders shipped to austria, because *A LOT* of items (especially hardware or fiber optics materials and accessories) wouldn't even show up in a search if you select germany as the shipping address....

While this might be true, it's not the case here, item is sold out for all

I ordered the fanless version of the 3758R on the 1st of March and received it friday last week after being stuck in UPS Hongkong for a long time.
I did notice that the 3758R was removed shortly after placing my order so i must've been among the last ones in that last batch.

I've been monitoring the availability of the 3758R for a couple of months while waiting to hear from my ISP if they can deliver 10Gbit before placing a order and i noticed that the 3758R come and go from time to time. So I'm sure it will be back eventually.

Interestingly enough I'm also having problems with one of the SFP+ ports just like @BigWill and it looks like they consistently miss to place those resistors noted in #727

I'm curious what kind of increased bureaucracy that is? Collecting VAT is automated up to a certain amount so that shouldn't be it. You must be referring to something else? :)

I don't think it's that they forget to place it there. If I recall correctly, they removed it to solve some other issue with the port not working or something like that. More information can be found earlier in the thread.

Removing it had the downside of transceivers not being detected in software but it linked up anyway, if I recall correctly.

Interesting, would be nice to know what that issue was without having to go through 38 pages.

EDIT: think i found at least one of the posts: #576

Am i the only one who finds it worrisome that the data pins for the SFP connectors doesn't seem to be soldered in, only friction fit?
And the SFP Cage isn't soldered in either except for on the frontmost two through-hole for each cage.

Yes, that's one of them. That basically sums it up. :)

I haven't checked on mine since it's pulling duty as my router.

Would be interesting to see if that's a thing on all of them or just some units.

I want to use it for an OPNsense build. Therefore, I believe, the 8 cores at higher clock speed of the C3758R is what I want over the 12 core or 16 core version.

To the hive-mind... Is Qotom exposing any of the Aspeed 2400 management on the newer generations, or are they still only using it for VGA?

Yes, I would also expect C3758R to be faster than the C3808 for that purpose. :) I haven't benchmarked then though. As a Proxmox host, the C3808 might be a better fit if you want lots of VMs though.

Not that I've heard. Still VGA only as far as I know.

That's not right at all. Seems like your board missed a trip through a solder bath at some point.

I looked into this further and i think the SFP cages are installed as intended by the manufacturer.
According to UDE's specs it's supposed to be press-fit.

They have a C3908 with 16 cores. I'm running that right now. Though the only thing I'm running atm is Mikrotik RouterOS.

Yeah, I know. :)

That's a weirdly undocumented CPU/SoC though. I wonder why Intel barley acknowledge that it exists. Is it a SKU originally built for a specific OEM perhaps, like how AMD have some custom EPYC SKUs for some large datacenter customers?
