He countered me $535 a couple of days ago, too.

He had countered me $475 when it was listed ~2 weeks ago. Not sure if it's different stock or if he's just feeling less giving, but I suppose it's possible somebody might get him to let it go lower still. Need one of you guys to buy it so I don't... :p

I had been trying to get him to go lower to no avail :-/ It is still well below any other auction on ebay right now and the fact they are listed as "new" is awesome.

I'm assuming this is not an engineering sample? I read through the description and it doesn't say it is but wanted to see what your thoughts are? This price is darn good for this drive given it's new. I wonder why it's so low?

I've had the chance to play around with the 800GB P3600 (in 2.5" form factor) and also the 800GB P3700 (also in 2.5" form factor) and they're some of the fastest drives I've tested to date. Even Intel's isdct toolset under Linux seems fairly well put together.

I know another member here has purchased NVME from them and had no problems.

For that price after shipping I wouldn't buy, but if you're in need it's not a bad price. Speaking of, did you see my for sale thread? I have 1.2TB S3710 listed for only a little more than their 800GB. May be of usage to you, I'm also on the verge of keeping them haha. I personally don't like Dell Branded SSD beacuse you need the Dell Card to read the real smart data.

They have P3700 800GB which are, imho, over-priced right now but you could offer less w/out calbe if you don't need it.

You're right on the shipping; it's a tad much to make it a deal. I would likely need the cable or some kind of PCIe adapter card to connect the drive to since my motherboard doesn't have M.2. I would have been better off going with two of the drives you just picked up on a SAS bus but I'd love to have the P3700 800GB.

P3600 are NVME not SAS so you'd need the cable for those too + a NVME Controller Card. The SuperMIcro cards are $125 to $250 depending on which you need / deals you get. The 2.5" cost more in the long-run due to needing the adapter but higher density is worth it for me :) and, well, PCIE version of these NVME are much harder to get 'great' deals on.

Oh...wasn't sure if they offered the P3600 in both interface types because the eBay listing above said it was a SAS device. Thanks for the info on the Supermicro cards. I'll take a look for them if I decide to go down that road.
