I was going to say "Sonofadamnbitch I just ordered myself a new Radeon RX 460. Wonder if I can cancel it and grab this one instead" ... but it's only about $30 less than the cheapest 1060 on my regular "not cheap but ACTUALLY HAS SERVICE" parts provider... I'm so conflicted.

This is a BAD deal! First of all paying over $250 for any 1060 is already making it a not great deal.... on top of that for a 3gb ver?!?! Htf is this supposed to b a good deal?

edit:

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeF...scsubtag=6242ef14842711e692796ea1bf24155a0INT

Jet.com - Prices Drop As You Shop

check out those. i still don't like the windforce 1060 6gb as it only has 1 DP. the reference design has 3 DP 1.3 and 1 HDMI 2.0b. I guess if you need 2 dvi then it would work for you. if you keep looking around, i am sure you can find a 1060 with 3DP for around $250

Edit: I do see the OP is from australia. so i will give him the credit that that is likely unfortunately the best deal available in aus. I feel bad b/c they always seem to pay a lot more than what we pay in US. it might still be cheaper if you know someone in US or buy on ebay and see if if they can ship it to aus.

is that $320 aus dollar or usd?

Sorry @wildpig1234 I forgot to mention it's AU$. US$250=AU$326. Good pick up about video outputs.
We really get screwed with prices in Australia and pay extra for hardware, software and downloads.
Whilst we love our tech and are great early adopters. Businesses figure we are willing to pay extra and charge us accordingly.
Just for example a WD 3.5" Red NAS WD60EFRX 8 TB is AU$472 = US$361. (Amazon price US$318)

@DavidRa If you had the option, I'd go for the GTX 1060. It uses about 40 watts more power but specs I've read suggest it is a much more powerful card, Higher bus, etc.

Eg, RX 480 and GTX 1060 DX12 and Vulkan Benchmarked
Ah but I don't game (on that computer). I currently drive the two Dell 2515H screens from a Radeon 6870, so ... anything current will be a step up :)

Power is important but I couldn't quickly see power usage last night when I was "dicking around on the Internet".

Also - not as good as we thought, see examples.

english not my native language and the Brit always seem to have a lot of different words so i thought that was just another brit word usage ...lol... :)

come another year and we prob get cards with Zero Dvi out. I hope that they will at least replace that with another DP 1.3 . otherwise it will be another complete disappointment

The original topic is over that way ---------------------------> somewhere but what the hell.

"Dicking about" or "dicking around" is basically "stuffing around" - spending a lot of time but not actually accomplishing anything useful.

Not really a good deal. I got a Gigabyte 1070 8G for $356 from jet.com. Also stock overclocked

I can't even imagine what 1070 would cost in aus ;(.....

Crazy but true. sold my gtx 480 to an aussie last yr for $350 usd. so I actually made like $30 profit after paying off ebay over what I bought it back in 2011 for $260. felt bad actually. but then that was market price with actually a few other foreign bid coming from nz and a few other places....

1070's aren't too bad.

1080's are worse though.
