Doesn't look too promising for the V1 family. The TA offers a solution for the V2 family in the form of a new BIOS option they call Processor PCIe Link Speed:I didn't read the release notes but Intel hopefully fixed the issue some where between TA recommended FW 02.02.0002 and the current FW 02.06.0002.
That's a great deal! It looks like it comes with everything except the CPUs and RAM (rails, heatsinks, Remote Management Module, etc.). At $300, you are getting a whole barebones in the same price range of most dual 2011 motherboardsSHIT! ...they just accepted a $300 offer on Intel R2312GL4GS Server System 2U Rack, Socket R, New Bulk Packaging

Yeah, I was looking at the P4216IP4LHKC Intel P4216IP4LHKC Server System 4U, Socket R, 1600W NewI tried the P4216IP4LHJC monster with dual 1200 unit for 275/350 they countered with 700/625.
I don't need another but had they accepted, I would have been in the same boat.
What I actually need now is an inexpensive 18-24u server rack so I can start organizing my messy home office. They seem to be as expensive as full size ones even before shipping.
Did you haggle or simply present a $300 BO and they accepted?SHIT! ...they just accepted a $300 offer on Intel R2312GL4GS Server System 2U Rack, Socket R, New Bulk Packaging

I haggled; initially offered $250, they countered with $325, and I re-countered with $300 which they accepted.Did you haggle or simply present a $300 BO and they accepted?
Looks like they are doing the counter-offering all day! Must be fun!
Keep an eye out on Craigslist for server racks. The resale market for them is relatively non-existent. The smaller racks are usually more expensive than the full ones. You'll see 42U's for $150 regularly; sometimes as low as $100. The 24U's are more desirable for home labs, so you'll see those in the $200-300 range. I saw some 48U's going for $75 awhile back, but those won't wheel comfortably through a standard door, so I had to pass.I tried the P4216IP4LHJC monster with dual 1200 unit for 275/350 they countered with 700/625.

That's unconscionable! I don't know how they're going to sleep at night. Have you bought up the world's supply of E5-2670 CPUs yet?SHIT! ...they just accepted a $300 offer on Intel R2312GL4GS Server System 2U Rack, Socket R, New Bulk Packaging

You need at least two of those compute module boxes....well you know, I was looking at fishing for one of the 2u 4 node compute module boxes:

I think we should hold you partly responsible for my new found compulsion; if it weren't for you spotting these e5-2670's (and this great forum), I'd be spending a lot more money on my 1970 Moto Guzzi rehabilitation project Well, lots of money will get spent *there* regardless...I am getting at least slightly jealous. Nice find!
Do you have a specific *need* for a BMC dedicated RMM nic? If not, you can still certainly use the RMM4Lite module which will unlock the 'Advanced' BMC features (which consist of the iKVM (which is what most people care about), and Remote USB Media Redirection), over one of the two baseboard NICs. All the other BMC/IPMI features are available *without* the RMM4Lite module. So I screwed up and bought an RMM4R, the direct board mounted version of RMM4. It came with RMM4Lite which I can use, but the NIC module has no pin header for the cable, only a dual-row gold-finger contact connector on the same side of the board as the RJ45 port. Is there any way to get this to work with my S2600CP?
The tiny key is all I'm using. Separate NIC is a nice to have rather than a necessity, at least for me. I did not get the ribbon cable and the mounting bracket. So the NIC is just sitting in its package.Do you have a specific *need* for a BMC dedicated RMM nic? Someone bought 5 today. Wonder if someone here did.I am getting at least slightly jealous. Nice find!
No kidding, I'm looking at my norco 2212 and starting to think 'you ugly' justifying reasons to jump on one of these as well.Someone bought 5 today. Wonder if someone here did.
