M65 has been delivered at NablaSquaredG and my M2400 (plus the metric ****ton of parts I ordered since last time) is underway from the USA to me. Good. Maybe finally I can get that M4400's RGBLED upgrade done.

You may be approaching a Precision Event Horizon situation!

Thank you UPS for being lightning fast! The M4400 finally has a (WORKING!) RGBLED display!

And now the bad news: my M2400's new display bezel broke after I had to remove it to install the webcam, the M2400 itself bluescreens when I enable Aero, and my case swapped M4600 now has a pink screen issue.

Oh well, those are things I can live with though.

At least the M4600's screen was just a cable that wasn't inserted properly. Going to reinstall the M2400 next, tried DDU and different drivers, still BSoDing.

Great, it appears the GPU on the M2400 is screwed up. Sigh. Nvidia, not even once. Let's see if they want to give me a partial refund so I can buy a new mobo off Parts-People.

Amazingly, when I DDUed the M2400 again and used the Dell drivers from 2009 it doesn't BSoD at all. WTF. Nvidia, not even once indeed.

Still got a $30 refund because i'm all but certain the VRAM is effed on this thing. Need to find a version of Nvidia MATS that works with Tesla GPUs but because it's a Nvidia confidental/internal use only tool its hard to find information about it.

In other news:

Precision M65 soon(TM)

M65 has been delivered. Had a strange issue of it overheating, ended up being the wrong thermal pad on the GPU.

oh jesus I acquired a NOS M6600 base in the UK. Still need to order a NOS upper lid but my will to spend money isn't there right now.

oh shit, the Precision M65/M4300 battery I bought from ViaDennis is a legit Dell battery like they said! No idea how old it is though.

0% wear too, so it's NOS. Am going to order some more of them later this month.

Ordered two more batteries and one of them is charging in my M4300 as we speak. Nice, after 5 years it finally has a proper battery.

In other news, my contact in the USA has sent my stuff. Good, next week or so I can start on putting my M6700 Covet back together. Still no sign of my M6600 base though :(

This is the last time i'm ordering from the UK, I got hit by Customs (for €14 no less!) for that stupid base. Should be receiving it soon(TM) though.

Good, my base has been received by PostNL and I should be getting it tomorrow.

And so does my massive package from the USA. It cleared Customs and is currently at the UPS depot in Eindhoven. If they deliver on Saturdays I should be getting my stuff tomorrow, otherwise Monday.

Base recieved, and guess what: it's NOT new at all. There's a scratch next to the latch and what appears to be a dent, and also glue resiude due to the box/packing foam on both sides.

And the seller calls this a new base, lol. Am going to ask for a partial refund.

Picked up the parcel and am basically done wrenching:
M6700 Covet: now has the i7-3940XM and K5000M it deserved!
M65 and M4300: both have NOS lids and displays. Bizarrely, the Sharp screen gives a white screen for a split second and then gives image. Weird.
M4600: 2960XM installed.
M70: NOS lid swapped.

Still to do: lid swap the M6600. Not sure what I'll do with the "new", damaged base.

DAMN! There's a 5520AE up for sale on eBay K-A but €800, **** no lol

It's got the rather rare Xeon/4k configuration though! I wonder if I can talk down the price to something sane, i.e half that?

In a bunch of computer stuff I bought from someone quitting the hobby I found two semi-related Precision parts: a DisplayPort-HDMI adapter and a very short HDMI cable. I didn't believe it at first but I can record my E-Series Precisions via the dock now!

Expect more videos of my Precision on my YT channel soon.

Due to personal reasons I might have to sell off my Precision collection. Not now thankfully, but there's a rather large chance in the near future.
