I had too many Precisions and too little time

G'day All,
New member here, I am searching for a 0D73P8/D73P8 dell nvidia quadro 5000m graphics card & heatsink. If you can help please reply to this
post or pm me and let me know the details. I'm located in Australia, so you must be willing to ship or know someone that is.

TIA
Mark

Haha, good luck finding one. I have two of them in my M6400 and M6500 Covets and I won't be letting go of them any time soon.

what

You found a Quadro 5000M without heatsink? Link please! Would love to bin some cards to see if I can find one that'll do GTX 465 desktop clocks.

As for your question: idk, I never tried a normal Quadro heatsink.

oh god damn it lid of my M6700 Covet broke :( same failure mode as the original lid of my M6500 Covet: display rail delaminating from the lid itself.

My hope is now set on a NOS M6800 Covet lid with touchscreen but the seller hasn't replied back on my questions.

Tripped the OCP on my PA-9E chargers not once but twice while wanting to record something, god damn it.

I am seriously tempted to get one of the Eurocom 780W chargers for the Alienware M18x but I have no idea if it'll work with any of my Dells. If it shows up as 330W to the system there's a large chance it will not work and i'll be stuck with a literal €230 brick.

FYI the M18x Eurocom charger will NOT work since it gets detected as 330W.

And a custom cable from Eurocom is €240, no thanks.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

God if that was Buy it Now I would have clicked that button so fast I would break my index finger. Have mailed the seller politely asking him if he considers a Best Offer.

EDIT: So apparently they're a recycler based out of Rochester NY. Sent the company itself a email asking if they could be on the lookout for more old Precisions. If I can rescue more M40 and M50's from destruction, sure!

Speaking of Precisions:

My first Precision: a base model M6400. I bought a M70 in early March 2018 and got this in the mail instead. Then came a M6500, the M40, and so on...

There is a guy who was able to upgrade his M4800 GPU to a T1000 card.

have you seen it? I am thinking about doing the same thing (if it works with M4800, it should also work with 7520) but can't find any info beside the youtube videos showing the results and not the upgrade process itself.

I don't really care about upgrading my Precisions beyond factory specs.
