Fibre from net to modem (woo real nbn). Australia just has poop internet. The biggest plans for home use are only 100/40. It's just a bad situation over here.

Using Sophos 9 UTM. I prefer it over pfsense mainly because it also can act as a reverse proxy with SSL termination and a WAF for my web facing applications. Pretty solid to have as a free feature out of the box.
We have DirecTV and are not really big consumers of media. I'm more of a movies guy - I prefer the quality of BRD/BRD uncompressed rips on my 113" screen/projector combo in the media room - not a lot of streaming in our household. Most of the data usage comes from my work, although that will go down in the future since I just signed a lease on some office space ...
Here is my late addition:
I have no cable subscription and no streaming video. I do have classic Netflix blu-ray disc by mail and get the 1-2 tv shows I enjoy by other means. I have 2 x comcast lines at ~150mbps/12mbps. The above lan graph is an easy way to show both wans cumulative. Most usage is from offsite backups and myself as a 'cloud backup' for friends and family.
