i buy a MJ11-EC1 with 12.83.50 firmware without vga output wo can download the firmware? the 12.61.21 was the latest was work with vga output. thanks or what is the latest best firmware?
I had this on one of my boards, I just flashed a newer BMC version and it started again; use e.g. https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...1-epyc-3151-mystery.41395/page-21#post-430325

there's a setting when you start remote control whether to show output on an external monitor at the same time as you remote and I think that might have been disabled on mine (saw it after I updated the BMC).

There is no BMC v12.83.50 for this board, it is probably a wrong firmware for another board. The latest correct one is 12.61.35 (AST2500).

I tested a bit, nothing will be detected in the M.2 slot, both via BIOS and a linux distro. Tested on other pc and works flawless, weird is that i have the same issue on both off my boards right now, the third got RMA because it got damaged in shipping. Wonder if there is damage to these that I can't see
So one of my boards has a dead M.2 slot and i figured it out 1 week after RMA period ran out, my misstake for not testing it sooner

I tested this cable Slim Line SAS 4.0 SFF-8654 4i 38 Pin Host to Mini SAS 4i SFF-8087 36 Pin Target on both the systems with the modded F02 Bios and no luck.

Also the M.2 to SPF+ package has a broken M.2 Adapter, can't seem to find a easy/cheap replace for it right now.

Other than that and that Ihave the wrong DDR4 memory installed right now it functions nice in a short 1u chassi.

Could the slot be dead? have you tried in other pc to verifiy that the nvme works?

@Vanetta I never could get the SFF8654 4i port to work with PCIE U.2 NVMEs either. Now I set it as SATA to a JBOD. That way it works just fine. My M.2 port works though with any adapter.

EDIT: Did you try cleaning the M.2 slot with isopropal alc and a tooth brush?

Just one info for users which have AER Errors and do not need IOMMU group for every device to do some specific device passtrough to VM you can try disable "ACS Enable" function in BIOS. In my case errors go away on motherboard(Using Proxmox) which produce this errors...

Hi, Is there someone who in BMC setup email notifications and they work? I'm try setup SMTP( Set username&Password, enable SSLTLS, set server domain...) and then in Settings -> Platform Event Filters -> LAN Destinations setup that send email to my account and save it then I press test button on "LAN Destinations" list but email is not send...

Hey, bought 3 G431-MM0 servers (natural habitat of MJ11-EC1), doing some modifications, so they can feed my OCP v1 GPU server's 3x80A power.

4x SXM2 V100 16GB, baby!

That means, I will not need the 10x PCIe Backplane boards.

If someone needs a CPBG8A0 Backplane board for 10x PCIe using the MJ11-EC1, let me know, I have 3 of them for sale, shipping worldwide.
50 eur+shipping/each (SAS cable not included, I'll still need that, cheaper then ebay.

If you really need it, I could give you the empty 4U server case (without HDD bay, PSUs) too, but that's heavy, so shipping would be very expensive.

I can confirm that AER errors gone after disabling ACS in bios for all devices. I didn't tested the internal NICs though because I disabled them in bios. Thanks for the info.

@dreunion61 I use both internal NIC's, one for LAN network and another as WAN interface in VM. Before ACS disabling in BIOS I no mather that I use different kernel parameters to avoid AER errors and disable ASPM and other power savings after few hours mostly at night when I have less WAN traffic WAN NIC stop working. It went into some power safe state(10M speed) and only way to get it work is remove it from PCIE devices reassign it back and restart network. Another option has been reboot host.
Im manually enable ACS because Im prepare host if in some future I will need better IOMMU gorups to passtrough some device... But right now I don't need this so disabling this option is best way to get it work... I don't wan't use additional LAN card and increase power consumption because is not needed... 1G network for me is good enought...

Run into the same problem.
Got it fixed after a rat hole of ipmiutil jtag and dip switches.
It got it fixed pretty simple: Flash a new BMC Version via Linux, Windows, or UEFI Shell.
I used this firmware: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Firmware/server_firmware_ast2500_AMI_12.x.zip
Prepare a FAT32 USB Stick, copy the unpacked zip onto it, boot into uefi shell, follow the guide and do not preserve the settings.
After that got finally access to the megarack sp-x webui.
Hope it helps!
It Helps a lot, i ran into the same problem and i'am happy to having found your solution big thank you pour l'info et le lien de Gigabyte.

I'm looking to use the "MiniSAS 4i" socket on my MB for 4x SATA, but I'm not sure which cable is required, and this thread contains contradicting facts regarding it :)

Is it a SFF-8643 that is required?

https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...-mj11-ec1-epyc-3151-mystery.41395/post-411868 -> No SFF-8643 on the MB
https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...-mj11-ec1-epyc-3151-mystery.41395/post-393726 -> Should be SFF-8643
https://forums.servethehome.com/ind...-mj11-ec1-epyc-3151-mystery.41395/post-395334 -> Should be SFF-8643

If it is SFF-8643, will this adapter work? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008113249095.html

I'm pretty lost at this, and the shipping times are long so the feedback loop is not great for testing :D
