AST2400 based boards are typically pulling even more power than newer variants.

One of them as an AST2400. It’s not the same as the one on the gigabyte though.
normaly only the chipset(PCH) needs +5V standby, but on mobo with BMC the ASPEED needs 1,5 amps more.
intel chipset need lower power.

A super micro X10sdv with 6 cores worked fine on the PSU. They are server pays so I assume they have a correct 5v line.

i meant the PSU is too weak.
The PSUs (2x Delta 550W Platinum) are also capable of running a full size ATX AM4 motherboard, with stupid LED strips, with the same RAM and CPU. My Supermicro X10SDV with BMC also work here. I don't think the PSU are the issue. And that doesn't explain why it doesn't POST on the other PSU.

Waiting an answer from the seller, I don't have much time left to send it back...

how do you connect 2x PSU to the motherboard ? MC12 supports only one.
or do you use a Power Distribution Unit we not know ?
Power Distribution Units have some electronics and can make issues too,

Yes there is a power distributor. Again, it works with all other motherboards I have tested.

I took a small video of the behavior with these PSU (I forgot to plug the CPU12v here, but the behavior was the same with the cable plugged):
I could try with my WC621D8A-2T and 8259CL, but I fear that a 2U cooler would not be enough for this CPU.

Ordered a bunch of them last week, got them today.
So far i was able to test two and both instantly worked / no problem.

The only thing i stumbled across is that the A1 slot needs to be populated first then B1, then A0 then B0, otherwise you will get the fans spinning but no post / no video out on the ipmi scenario others described! I tried with a single dim in A0 and that failed!

Havent done the bios / firmware updates yet tho.

A little look around in the ipmi if anyone is curious since i didnt find to many images from the gigabyte ipmi.

Edit:
So far tested working:
Ryzen 3600X, Ryzen 3700X
Crucial Ballistix 8gb 3000mhz module, Crucial Ballistix 16gb 3000mhz module, Corsair Vengance LPX 16gb 3200mhz module, Micron Generic 2666mhz 16gb Module

****. ME.

I would have swearer that I tested it, but I decided to have a go again tonight. I got POST. Finally.

But still no POST/BMC on the server PSU. I bought this chassis specifically for this motherboard...

But like no joke gigabyte has one of the nicest ipmis i have worked with so far.
Very responsive and nice modern look and tons of features

Tons of settings

Temperatures & The other standard sensors

Screenshot_20240205_200056.png

Main Dashboard

Screenshot_20240205_171659.png

Freely configurable fancurves (not only four presets like on Supermicro X11 / X12)

Screenshot_20240205_195831.png

Fan curves can even be based of sensors of pcie cards like gpus, with already predefined profiles!!!

Screenshot_20240205_195851.png

Different Fan Profiles with import / export function

Screenshot_20240205_195810.png

Full Firewall / IP Tables inside the ipmi!!!!!

Screenshot_20240205_195756.png

Full video recording functionality, directly to remote storage and works with non chromium browser like firefox

Screenshot_20240205_195938.png

HTML5, Java and Serial over Lan console

Screenshot_20240205_200018.png

Also full ldap / active directory support for account management, snmp and all the standard stuff seems to be included as well

Havent used gigabyte servers much so far but, no joke i am really impressed even compared to the Supermicro X13 and current gen Asrock Rack IPMI and i havent been able to fully verify that yet but from what it appears it is running quite standard linux under the hood so maybe running third party code on the ipmi might be possible....

I try to ask again?

anyone successful to activate iGPU of an APU on this Mainboard for Transcoding purposes?

yes I‘m aware that the VGA is hardwired to AST2500 GPU and yes I have an open ticket with gigabyte support.
