I gave in and ordered the board just because it was so cheap. Sent an offer for the kicks and it was approved. Why did I do that.. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Has anyone tried 5800x3d on this? It is not listen on the QVL.
Any updates on this one?

I'm looking at doing x8x8 bifurcation but cannot find anything good on european amazon. Maybe I'll get this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004963399212.html and a few risers https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005805441563.html, create a local cloud gaming server for the kids, dunno :D

I think BMC updates BIOS version only after successful boot even if it was already flashed successfully.

@Jannis Jacobsen Does BMC inventory show RAM info correctly? Mine did not boot and showed wrong RAM (4 sticks when I only had 2 installed). I removed the other stick and had only 1 stick on A1 slot. Then it booted normally and BIOS version got updated. After that I was able to install the other stick and everything worked.

I have a super weird issue:

The motherbaord doesn't work with a 550W delta PSU, but with a corsair 850W seems ok. The same 550W PSU works with two others motherboard without issue.

Never saw an incompatibility between a mtherboard and a PSU?

EDIT: BMC seems to start with the Corsair PSU, but it doesn’t POST
EDIT2: tried to update the BMC fw via the web interface, failed verification. Should I assume my motherboard is dead? :/

Last try with the gigabyte:
- Ryzen 3600
- single stick of 32Gb DDR4 ECC
- (added) old nvidia GPU

Still no post. I can start the server from the web BMC interface, but I cannot stop it. No output on the inboard VGA, the BMC web interface or the added GPU.

I tried again updating the BMC from the web interface, but I get an error "Failed due to verification image".

Hopefully the seller is quick to respond (bought directly on their website, and my German is pretty rudimentary)

When running the same CPU on the motherboard that boot, I can see ECC errors in Linux:

Code:
kernel: [ 316.348594] mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
kernel: [ 316.348601] [Hardware Error]: Corrected error, no action required.
kernel: [ 316.349267] [Hardware Error]: CPU:0 (17:71:0) MC17_STATUS[Over|CE|MiscV|AddrV|-|-|SyndV|CECC|-|-|-]: 0xdc2040000000011b
kernel: [ 316.349538] [Hardware Error]: Error Addr: 0x00000007e2928300
kernel: [ 316.349809] [Hardware Error]: IPID: 0x0000009600050f00, Syndrome: 0x1eb280000a801000
kernel: [ 316.350076] [Hardware Error]: Unified Memory Controller Ext. Error Code: 0, DRAM ECC error.
kernel: [ 316.350365] [Hardware Error]: cache level: L3/GEN, tx: GEN, mem-tx: RD
Bought the CPU and memory used... Not super confident in the mobo either.

@foogitiff Is that RAM stick listed correctly in BMC RAM inventory menu? If not try another stick in A1 slot. I don't think these motherboards are really DOA, but their RAM compatibility is just pretty bad or buggy... They have been tested in the factory.

No I don’t see it in the inventory, I see 4 16gb stick of Samsung, I assume it’s the one they used for testing. I will try again one last time with a different stick…

Hi guys,
after having similar problems with the BIOS and BMC upgrade, I got mine now up and running with a 5600G and 32 GB RAM.

As I'm mainly using the setup as my NAS for Movies I want it to sleep until I wake it up. With that I'm currently having difficulties.
I want my server to go to S3 sleep, but I can't find any options to enable S3 or "modern standby" in the BIOS. Also the running OS only reports S0 and S5 as supported. That would lead me to conclude, that the mobo doesn't support sleep states at all. Still, there is one hint in the bios, when disabling SMT it states that "S3 is not supported with disabled SMT".

Did any of you have similar problems or an idea how to enable S3?

keep in mind this inventory is updated by the BIOS !!! no successfull POST = old or no Inventory data.

I know, I cannot get the board to POST.

With the Delta 550W -> the BMC won't even start, the CPU fan tried to start to turn, but then block. I hear a regular "click click"
With the Corsair 850W -> BMC starts, I managed to update it in the end. But still no POST, nothing displayed on the embedded VGA or the web interface.

I tried with a single stick of 32GB DDR4 ECC (that seems faulty in the end...) just tried again with one and two other 16GB non-ECC DDR4, still no POST. I tried a clear CMOS too.

It must be dead, I don't know that I could try now.

I tried with both 550w psu without any success. All other motherboards seems so work fine with them.
