Just as a heads-up for those waiting, Ryzen 5 "official" launch is April 11. Ingram is shipping a few SKUs early but that is when you will see the majority of the coverage.

4 systems chugging along at STH. Only the Ryzen 5 1400 is still going.

Should be an interesting week to say the least

Likely not the Ryzen 5's. Much lower performance than the 7's.
That is somewhat disappointing to me. The 1600 and the 1600x looked promising.

I sense your statement (above) parallels a quote from a review, "in some cases it might be worse, as the processor will be forced to allocate threads to the second CCX more frequently. "

@Nanotech - I believe Seti@Home is heavily multi-threaded.

Stock clocked, the Ryzen chips have some standout benchmarks, but in general, Intel still has higher IPC and higher clocks.

Where Ryzen does well are the segments where it offers more than 4 cores at the same price point as Intel offers 4 cores.

@Nanotech true but then again, you are paying new for R7 versus Haswell/Broadwell which are thoroughly used pricing now. And the PCIe lanes, memory, SATA ports and etc. are a fairly big deal in the higher-end desktop space.
