Hey STHers!
I'm planning to build my homelab, so I bought a new motherboard Supermicro X10DRL-CT and attempting to use 2 x E5-2690 V3 processors. But problem is I really don't know what CPU cooler should I choose, for family use I have to minimize the noise. I googled to find the answer but no use. So I'm here, I'm wondering if anyone have experience on this, I'm planning to use silverstone CS380 or Define R5 as my chassis .

I brought 4 SNK-P0050AP4 from Amazon Warehouse. It came withe square and narrow adapter.
Supermicro 4U Active CPU Heatsink Cooling for X9 UP/DP Systems SNK-P0050AP4

Heatsink fitted in Define R5 case without issue. I used single cpu ATX board.
Question : Supermicro X10DRL-CT could fit inside R5 case??

I'm running Noctua U9DX i4's (Link: NH-U9DX i4) with dual E3-2673v3's at almost 100% cpu usage the whole day. Temps are not going beyond 65C with 21-22C server room temp and fans stay at ~900-1100rpm.

Your cases seem to be fine with the overall cooler hight at 125mm. But they stay very tight. Keep an eye on that.

I can't hear them. Unbeatable coolers.

Good luck

Mike

I also use the same U9DX i4 noctua cooler on my X10SRH-CF, using an e5-4667v3 (16c/32t). CPU idles at low 30C's and hits high 50's when at full load. So much quieter than the supermicro cooler options!
