@Patrick

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to PM you directly. So here it goes. Just noticed this news from Cisco:

Would be nice if you could make a vid about it if you have access to test them. Maybe someone else good jump in.

I think they look pretty interesting for specific use cases, depending on price politics.

Be well ... @all

@gb00s - I sent that to Rohit yesterday afternoon to see if he wanted to write it up.

I've always been a big fan of the 3Com/HP Intellijack switches to provide that additional wired connectivity at the walljack where necessary, and have had to use an AP702W or AP1810W/1815W to get that same additional wired equivalency with the added bonus of having a "microcell" wireless AP in the same area. Definite interest on my part.

ouch, @ ~$300 per switch (for the 3Com/HP)... I like the idea too... it is (almost) cheaper to run more cat6 to each wall outlet

Used to be we would figure $100/cable drop, so the price point was right in that general break-even vicinity.

Seems like there is no actual statement on power consumption in the data sheet. Wonder if it’s as bad as all the other switches that run Cisco IOS, some of the most frugal of which are the fabless 8-port that still seem to use 20w and more
