Hi all
After going through all the posts related to ROMED8-2T in which i learned a lot of things (but sadly none help me resolved my problem), im posting here to try my luck..
I have 3 ROMED8-2T with EPYC 7313 on a chassis with triple backplane with minisas ports (SFF8643). there are 2 EVO 870 for OS and 8 WD 22TB disks.
When i connect 2 of the backplane port to the motherboard SFF8643 ports, all good.
For the third connector, i tried PCIE 4 ports SFF8643 as well as m.2 SFF8643 adaptor.
I tried all the possible combination possible with both adapters and BIOS settings without luck. im now in a situation where if i connect either adapter, the motherboard doesn't recognize the network interface (both BIOS and OS level).
I have 3 MB and 3 adapters each (PCIE and M.2). tried to swap them without success.
BIOS settings i plaid with:
- Jumper 26-27 in position 12-23 and 23-23
- PCIE Slot 2in x4x4x4 for the m.2 port
- PCIE slot where card is plugged is also on x4x4x4x4
- Gen 3 / Gen 4 and Auto were tested
- PCI SR-IOV enabled
- AMD menu - SATA Enabled ADHIC
- i did default reset of BIOS to make sure i know which parameters are changed
I did BIOS reset, BMC/BIOS reinstall.
In none of the tests i managed to get the disks to be recognised (i confirmed they work by testing on the MB ports just in case). The PCIE card adapter doesn't even have LED on... it's like all the MB are not powering the PCIE lanes..
I know the M.2 ports are working (if i plug a m.2 pcie disk of m.2 to sata adapter it's working)
Questions:
- Did any of you had this situation where network interfaces are not recognized as BIOS/OS level because of cards plugged in?
- Any suggestion to get my extra disks recognized?
I raised a ticket with ASROCK support few days ago and pending for a response.
Thanks!
